I've been encouraged to actively write creative non-essays, so I started a fiction story. It's only about one typed page because I haven't entirely decided on the direction it's going. It is inspired by real events (not a retelling of a story by any means, but some of the interactions have actually happened, some of the thoughts have crossed my mind, some of the dialog has been spoken, although it will be modified to fit the story). I am open to suggestions--however, I am not changing the lead character's name from Maggie (she was initially Marie, but I kept calling her Maggie).

I appreciate any and all constructive criticism (ratings require review, as with all of my writings, so that I can better assess my strengths and weaknesses), so please read, rate, and review!
