| Are there in contest on this platform for Pride month, as it's about to end? V/R Vick |
| I’m just seeing this comment today, sorry. I’d like to introduce you to Rhymer Reisen |
| Can someone point me in the direction of a love/romance contest that is active? I've been writing a a lot of horror lately, and I want to write a little romance, but want a good prompt get my creative juices flowing. |
| Hi Vick Rolling 🏳️🌈 Try
This month's prompt is: Romance by the Shore: PROMPT: Romantic, sizzling hot romance by the Shore! (It can be -- river, lakeside, waterfalls, ocean, or sea cliffs) YOU choose which wet and romantic backdrop suits your characters! |
| Give "Contest Central Station" a look. Contests are broken down by genre. Whilst some aren't active, you should be able to find some that are. |
| Just got a review that kinda hurt my ego. Can someone read a piece and tell me the proper use of commas? Kindest Vick |
| I don't know if it hurt my feels or made me question myself. I was using the stream of consciousness writing style for that, because it seemed more realistic. Thank you for your feedback, and I will definitely look into getting some help with that. Vick |
| Haven't been writing for a while, just wrote two new pieces, and I would love some help with choosing another contest. |
| If you are interested, I host contests every month on "The Contest Challenge" . The idea is to join my challenge for a year, but a lot of folks don't make it that long. lol However, I do allow catching up if you fall behind, but want to get going again. You just enter a contest I highlight each month, then to go my forum and post proof that you entered with {post:XXXXXX}. Easy peasy. I often shower my participants with gifts like raffle tickets, gps, MBs, whatever strikes my fancy. But those are just random gifts, not to be counted on. At the end of your year, you get 2 exclusive MBs. Check it out. Last month I had 22 participants, so it's pretty popular.
Good luck with your contest entries, whether it's through my challenge or not! |
| So, I submitted four pieces of poetry for an anthology. They are currently under review, and I am freaking out. What are some things you've done if are rejected. What did you do when you got your first published piece? |
| If you are rejected, just keep trying. Sometimes it has nothing to do with the quality of the work. It just may not match what they are looking for in that particular edition. If you do get published, then celebrate. Good luck! |
| Question? Should all stories be written in past tense? I am staring to realize that I have an issue keeping the past tense flowing when I am writing. I want the reader to feel like they are apart of the action. I was told stories should be told in past tense. What's your take? |
