Welcome to the club
As long as they stay on the page, it's okay. But do be sure to check in with us from time to time so we know all is still well with you... lol
So I asked my Muse what she thought about us writing a novel in Gen X. She was like, ew, gross, no way. Gag me with a carburetor, Dudette.

Whatever.
Work keeps interfering with my hobby. Stop that, Work! {e:grrr}

Yeah, it kept pushing in on my video game time.
One of my characters just casually mentioned the story she's working on for journalism club. I (a.k.a., the author) am like, oh, that's interesting. I didn't know you were in the journalism club. Then the other two are like, oh, really? Did you know we're in the chemistry club and Spanish club (respectively)? And I'm like, no, cringe, you idiotic, secret-keeping characters. Now I have to research, which is FANTASTIC, because I have all kinds of free time this month.

BrandiwynšŸŽ¶Sprinting Author Icon - I was in Journalism club in HS and College. Cutthroat and clicky.
SpiderGal Author Icon - Now I know where to direct my questions. *Bigsmile*
SpiderGal Author Icon - That reminds me of the first action scene of Star Trek: Beyond. Though I'm sure the details surrounding your "artifact" will be quite different. "Stolen years ago" is always a good hook for the story.

In bed, 10 minutes until 10pm.

Hubby: are you gonna do that sprint on your phone?

Me: yeah. I may not even make it until 10: 30, but I'm gonna try.

Him: Sounds more like a crawl than a sprint. *Laugh*

KĆ„re เคียด Enga Author Icon - So, we have an second annual instrument petting Zoo this coming Sunday, the 9th. I ordered two wot(s? - not sure the plural) a week ago, and they were scheduled to arrive in plenty of time. Now they're delayed, expected between Nov.14 - Dec.5. I'm so disappointed.
Crawling across the finish line of a marathon is still finishing a marathon.

WRITE ON! But first, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
BrandiwynšŸŽ¶Sprinting Author Icon- I think it would be wots or wodes in English but there are no plurals in Thai. A ąø‚ąø„ąøøą¹ˆąø¢ (khlui - type of flute) or a แคน (khaen) are two more common instruments.

The delays... lots of insanity over imports these days. Have some of your students learn to play one! If you want fiddles... there are some strange ones in Norway and Sweden and strings instrument from Central Asia might intrigue the curious.
Dang it. I'm working on payroll - because my employees insist on getting paychecks - and my insulin pump just beeped at me that it's out of insulin, so I have to drop everything and go refill it. These sorts of low-priority things need to stop interfering with my novel writing month. *Rolleyes*

Schnujo Author Icon - Perfect!!
In case anyone was worried, payroll is paid and insulin is refilled (but not in that order). Also, I was trying to make a joke, but I appreciate all the love very much. *Heartv**Heartv**Heartv*

A walkathon fundraiser... but for writers and those who want to sponsor writers' efforts!

Join the Write-a-Thon as a writer, sponsor, or both! Your sponsorship funds some great WDC community-oriented groups and activities.

If you're not already sponsoring someone, I would love your sponsorship. You can set a GP limit on your sponsorship. My word count goal is 60,000 words, but my fundraising goal is to be the writer who raises the most GPs, so the more the merrier. *Bigsmile* If you're willing to sponsor me, please complete this form, and then hold me accountable!! Soldier_Mike Author Icon - Mike, thanks very much for the sponsorship. *Heart* I sponsored you, as well!
BrandiwynšŸŽ¶Sprinting Author Icon - That's very cool, and thank you! *Heartt* Somehow, though, I'm getting the feeling that I'm going to end up on the long end of the GP-stick. *Laugh*

🌻 pwheeler ~ love joy peace Author Icon - Sometimes they've been so bad, I couldn't figure out later what I was trying to say! *Laugh* Trying to get ahead of that by cleaning up while I still remember. *Thumbsup*
BrandiwynšŸŽ¶Sprinting Author Icon - that sounds like smart thinking to me. Better to know what you meant than have a big mystery at thorough editing time.

I'd like to reserve a plot, though I hope not to need it for at least a few more years. Wait... what? Not that kind of plot?

Oh. Never mind.
This is a great idea!
The first Sprint is 02:00-02:30! Writing a novel is not required. You can write anything you want. If you're a last-minute sign up, you may not see your name on the drop-down list yet; that's okay! Just record your word count in the forum until we get your name added. If you need help, post a question in the forum. Lots of veterans there to help you out until I get home from work this afternoon to fix any technical problems. Happy sprinting!

Do we have a "have-a-plot, leave-a-plot, need-a-plot, take-a-plot" forum on WDC anywhere yet?

Schnujo Author Icon - That all sounds like extra work. I was just thinking of a forum where people dumped their ideas for other people to browse. I'm guessing the number of authors here that would use the ideas is fewer than the number of authors using the forums at nanowrimo.org, so searching through the ideas won't be as tedious. Maybe adding a genre tag to the title might be a rule, and if anyone fails to do that, the editors of the forum could manually edit the entry.
I was in the Army, BrandiwynšŸŽ¶Sprinting Author Icon. Work harder, not smarter! Hahaha! Yeah, your way sounds smarter/easier. lol Though I think mine is easier on the user in the end. But only if someone is actually keeping up the forum...

Maybe include a note about mousing over the title to see a sneak preview of what's in the comment for those who don't know that trick?

So, which of us is creating this? And if it's me, do you have any images or whatnot you want me to use to go with your color scheme you have going on with the other activities?
Schnujo Author Icon - You should have edit access. It's in a folder called "October Novel Prep Extras".
