| Needing a refresher to spark poetic writing or to simply hone your writing skills? Twice a week, Dave |
| Glad to see you post. I finally realized that Poet's Place wasn't among my favorites... which is why I haven't been seeing it. |
Congratulations to our winners of Round 78 the Tanka Kåre เลียม Enga WakeUpAndLive~lifestyle change concrete_angel with "⭐ 遺跡 | Relic" took third place |
Moving Eastward, we go to Pashtun country to discover verse written from a woman's point of view, even if you are a male poet. So get in touch with your feminine side and provide us with a Tapa.
"Invalid Post" Pashtun short verse from a woman's point of view, two lines, no rhyme, the Tapa should still sing poetic. ~~Tinker |
Thank you Lilli for stepping up and leading this forum for the month of July and thank you to the participants who continued to show off your skills. For our August journey to the East let's try a little Bollywood.

| Obviously the hokku was too easy because we got nothing but winning poems. Thank you so much for the quality of work submitted. I did choose 2 hokkus that were very authentic as First Place Winners, but when I was trying to decide the placement of the others I gave up. Each poem was so unique and well written I decided to give everyone an award without a placement. First Place "One hokku and eleven rengas" by Kåre เลียม Enga Awarded for excellence and creativity. My apologies, time got away from me and I'm late getting this done. This was a difficult round because of the quality of the writing, no one screwed up. It came down to which poems made me feel something. Congratulations to our Round 72, the Jue Ju , Winners Though most went for an erotic tone, some more subtle, this poem was poingant and I almost cried. "A sweet gentle kiss" by Lisa Noe This one made me smile. "June 9, 2020" by ridinghhood-p.boutilier For the additional understanding that each brought to this group about this form. "⭐ mother holds her breath" by concrete_angel and "Snow geese 雪雁 (xuě yàn) [177.87]" by Kåre เลียม Enga Just read these, you won't be disappointed..

Do yourself a favor and read the entries of Round 70 especially those of the winners. You will be reading some really good poetry, very diverse in focus but all well worth your time. Oh and maybe take a little more time to write a response to the poet to let them know how their poem touched you. After all, that is the real win for all of us, knowing someone read our work and was touched by it. Congratualation to our Round 70, the Tanaga, Winners A poem that will make you think. Eric Wharton is on a roll, two wins in a row.
In this poem we wonder what goes on in a mind lost to us. "She Stares Frozen In Time" by |π÷∆€¥ This little gem is just pure delight.
