I am on Submittable, trying to get my name out there. Anyway, I need a decent bio for most submissions. This is what I have and it reads like crap. Critique the heck out of please. I have thick skin, so don't worry about hurting my feelings.


My name is First-Name Last-Name and I am a mother of three tenacious boys. I have dreamed of being a writer my entire life, often creating nonsense stories as a young child to actually learning the craft as a teen and now fine tuning it. While it is true that I write, therefore, I am a writer, to see my work published—chosen—would be absolutely amazing. Not only would this validate all the work I have put into honing my craft (I am still, and forever will, be honing and learning), but it would also be something I could show my boys. To teach them that dreams can come true if you work hard for something.
At a quick glance - you repeat yourself - 'honing' and 'learning' 'something' all stand out. I don't see anything that says what you write now, or any suggestion as to your style.

What are you trying to say with tenacious?

I struggled, but obviously didn't work hard enough. I will not reach 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo. :(
One of these days, I WILL be published, and then I will get an upgraded account here. Until then, I keep moving forward. As of right now, I need to fix my timeline. At least I am only 5 chapters in. I just don't know how I managed to screw it up so bad. Oh well, its a learning process.
Getting stuck sucks. I know where I want to go, but I can't seem to get on the right path. And the worst part is, its a character name for a chacter whose name isn't needed yet. Why am getting stuck on a name I don't even need yet?
