Don't forget it's
MOTHERS DAY TOMORROW (UK)
💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
I've got a card...somewhere...
A Blonde and a Brunette are in a car,
Brunette:Christmas is on a Friday this year,
Blonde:I hope it's not the 13th.

Where do Ghosts go for rides on Friday the 13th?
They ride in Elevators, it raises their spirits
I had to read that first one twice...*FacePalm*
What's the safest place to hide on Friday the 13th?
The Living Room.

Spare a thought today for the people of Ukraine

The people of Ukraine are always in my thoughts.
There's a TV in the canteen at work,
The BBC News was on and there was an item which brought a few giggles,
It was about Groundhog Day from Gobblers Knob, Pennsylvania.

That's some place name
Pennsylvania is known for its unique place names. Innuendo aside, good luck pronouncing Conshohocken or Bala Cycwyd.

You can buy bumper sickers - in Amish country, no less - that tell everyone that "you have to go through Intercourse to get to Paradise" - which are neighboring towns. Locals will usually then remind you that if you make a wrong turn, you end up in Blue Ball.

The list goes on...

Yes I suppose if you do your research there's plenty of rude names to be found all over the world,

Here in the Lake District (Cumbria) there's a town called Cockermouth and two Mountains, one called, Great Cockup, the other, Little Cockup.
Following on from Storm Goretti Storm Chandra is due to hit the UK tomorrow (Tuesday),
I thought hold on is the Alphabet going backwards,
But Goretti was named by the French,
So "Phew" we're back on track with the UK named Storms,

Future Named Storms (UK)
A-Amy H-Hannah O-Oscar
B-Bram I-Isla P-Patrick
C-Chandra J-Janna R-Ruby
D-Dave K-Kasia S-Stevie
E-Eddie L-Lilith T-Tadhg

I was surprised this morning with it being a Sunday,
A courier knocked on the door with a package,
I'd totally forgotten I'd ordered a book,
The Diary of Anne Frank,
As it happens the film is on the TV this afternoon,
Weird Coincidence?
WARNING,
Received an email from,
Boulder Bookaholics Book Club,
It seemed suspicious?
My suspicions were confirmed when, and I can only assume that Wdc Trashed it for me,

Stay Aware Everyone

Thanks Wdc.

Did you realise today is,
National Word Nerd Day
My own day...
Named by the French,
Storm Goretti is the first storm to hit the UK in 2026

Goretti actually sounds Italian?

Yes I thought that,
But if I heard correctly and I was doing something else they said on the TV they'd already used the earlier letters with the storm season starting in Autumn,
But now you've questioned it I'll have to investigate
Annette Author Icon -
Apparently the storm list runs from early September to the following August to coincide with the start of autumn
Susie Author Icon - that explains it. Thank you for looking it up.

Hey Susie, you're a clever one. Do you want to join "26 Paychecks ?

I'm still collecting participants until January 15, then it'll be closed off for participants only.
13 Hours to go until Midnight,
I'll wish everyone a Happy NewYear now,
I'll probably be Inebriated by the time we get to Midnight 🥳

I don't seem to have seen a mention of
Brigitte Bardot today,
Another screen icon passed away
Aged 91
RIP
She was many "hormones in tennis shoes" teen boys fantasy when I was growing up.
I think we should all raise our glasses to Santa who once again delivered all those presents in,
34 HOURS and 24 MINUTES
🥂🍻🥂🍻
Boxing Day is a tradition from Victorian times,
Wealthy families would give "Christmas Boxes" filled with gifts or money to their servants and tradespeople as a thank you for their service throughout the year,

Also churches had boxes for donations which were handed out to the poor on December 26th

Thank you for this post..I never really knew what Boxing Day was.
Wishing you a Christmas filled with laughter, love and cherished memories,
May your holidays be bright and joyful,

🎄🎅MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅🎄
