It's been awhile since I updated on here, and alot has happened over the past couple of years.

But I want to share more of my writing and one of my new projects is a remake of one my oldest items in my port.

The story of how a gift can bring true love...


This item was something I wrote back when I was a teenager and it was one of the first bits of writing I shared with people

But something has always bothered me, I was not as experienced back then as a writer and a common comment in reviews is the potential of the story.

Samantha and Darwin were some of the first characters I ever created, and they hold a special place to me as a writer. So, I would love to expand and fully explore their story.

So, for anyone who enjoyed this story in the past on WDC, I hope you enjoy this new version. I intend to post chapter I soon.

I also have other projects on tap as well that I intend to share on WDC including new chapters of Dark Legacy

I have missed being on here and I hope to make up for it.

I am busy rewatching the Majin Buu Saga in Dragon Ball Z.

I consider it research.....
Reason #376 Why I am not writing my story.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III released on Game Pass, and I'm busy playing it on my Xbox.
Any excuse will do. I keep a list. *Smile*
I am not sure how many people missed me, but I am still alive. At the start of the year, I hoped to write more and try to be active on WDC again, but fate had other plans. Long story short, my dad passed away a few months ago and well, things have been busy on many levels.

That said, I hope to finally get back on WDC and return to writing. I think writing will help me alot.

But I apologize for not being around more. I hope to improve that.
You know, it may sound silly, but my resolution for the new year is to get back into my writing and make progress.

This year was a tough one personally, and my mind and heart was simply not in it, which made it harder to overcome a wall in my writing when I hit it.

In 2024, I intend to get back on track.
I am not sure if this is good or not, but I plugged one of my chapters into a Readability Test and I got a score of 86.4 out of 100.

I think a higher score means that the readability is good, but I wonder if anyone can offer some insight.

I doubt I can count it for NaNo, but I have a fantasy novel that I was working on that has 210,785 words written so far.

Maybe I should focus on that, there is a lot of work to do on that instead.
Not sure if this is good or not but I am 13,007 words into my NaNo novel.

I just need to stay focused....

I have never been so frustrated with writing.

I have rewritten the same chapter over and over and I am not happy with it.

To make matters worse, I feel bogged down with trying to make a backstory and world building work.

This is so annoying....
Maybe change gears? Work on another chapter and go back to that one later- there's nothing that says you have to write the chapters in order (and if there is, it's wrong!) Write something different to get out of that frustrated place.

And if you're feeling held back by the need to create backstory and world building... yeah, that can be anxiety-provoking for me when I'm trying to get started - how are you going about it? Are you working from a workbook or beat-sheet or answering long lists of questions? When that stuff gets me down, I go back to what I did when I was a little kid - I go to bed and listen to music and daydream about my story, watch things happen in my mind, see things come to shape, let the blanks get filled in naturally.

Hope you start feeling some positive writing energy soon!
Since the day I joined WDC, I have always thought of this site and it's members of a family filled with some of the nicest people you will ever meet on the internet.

Not a day has gone by where I have doubted that.

My faith in this community was just reenforced. Out of the blue, I just got a one year upgraded membership.

I don't know who sent me such a wonderful gift or what I did to deserve it, but I am on the verge of crying tears of joy and I am not ashamed to admit that.

Whoever my kind gift giver is, thank you so much. I have a good number of ideas for my expanded membership, and I don't intend to let your gift go to waste.
