Notes by Storm Machine, in chronological orderNotes by Storm Machine
I've added a new entry to my book, "Inner Workings of the Machine:
         "Journey.
Every time the time changes I remember how much I hate them.
Went to the circus after class. 12 pages left in my book. So much fun but I have to finish it before I sleep.

Bedtime was an hour ago, gauging by my incessant yawning.
Also the tornadoes missed me..
Storm Machine Author Icon -that's good *whew*
Sleepy during first day of class lectures. Brought my crochet project but blah. When's lunch?
Inside the plane for 1.5 hours.. still haven't taken off. 🙄 Can't find the next book I really thought was in my backpack.
Just remember Boeing's motto: "When one door closes, another opens."
If I couldn't find the book- at least I had a notebook...
And I landed safely
With my son finally back at school, I have motivation to do the things. Why does he wreck that just by being home?

Has anyone tried communicating these issues with these guys? Not that I'm a great listener, but I hear some men are.
Robert Waltz Author Icon and JACE Author Icon - the point (at least in my case) isn't that my husband is doing something wrong or needs to adjust for my benefit. Quite the opposite, actually: Dear Husband, please stop insisting on spending time with me when I have an arbitrary, self-imposed writing deadline to meet. *Laugh* How dare he demand that I make him a priority??
Robert Waltz Author Icon - I told him he needed to go to school. Often. Incessantly, even.
I've added a new entry to my book, "Inner Workings of the Machine:
         "not YET truant
I found one of the notebooks I've been looking for, and it was tucked in with an old draft in a huge binder. Such a relief to find both, though I'm still technically missing one of the composition notebooks I need, the one i found was more important. #Amwriting #canactuallywriteitnow
I've added a new entry to my book, "Inner Workings of the Machine:
         "Improvement?
I found more notebooks, but I still haven't found the ones I was looking for.
That reminds me of a song...
One of the many things that comes with being a writer with a lot of notebooks.
I got 99 problems and all of them are notebooks.

When you call the health office for your son, and of all their robotic phone options, primary care is not listed - so you just pick a number and ask to be transferred. #HeathFail
That sounds like a programming fail as well, which unfortunately frops up in health care systems due to IT funding issues in that industry. (See this YouTube video for an additional example: https://youtu.be/LZM9YdO_QKk?si=0iS8bKsKUk2qhPtF)
Elisa the Bunny Stik Author Icon - That is a really great example of how we fail in these projects.
I have to see the doctor today from my ER visit 3 days ago. I feel for you.
So many habits go much deeper when you practice every day. It's music. It's writing. It's probably every art you've ever attempted. How much art can I sink into my every-damn-day procedures? That is the question I'm finding my way through lately.
A habit takes 21 days of continued doing for it to become a habit. Therefore, if you miss a day, it truly is not a habit yet, and you get to start all over again. Hence why most hate creating habits.
Wannabe Author Icon - Brain science says it takes longer than that.

I had the habit for 13 years. I'm working to get it back. Life got in the way for a while.
Storm Machine Author Icon - what a great article, thank you for sharing.
My son is feeling fatigue, possibly associated with a med change. I'm calling it alternative learning today because I'm letting him take apart my old laptop/tablet and change the battery. It started with one screw, then he's like, oh, I can do this. Let me do this.

So I'm letting him. He's attentive, careful, and focused. I love seeing his brain work like this. *HeartRainbow*
Praying for you right now. *Heart*
When there are too many choices, how do you narrow it down? I'm working on ways, but it is not easy.
Robert Waltz Author Icon - I expected nothing less from you. *Cool*
I tell myself to make the least stupid decision with the best information available.

And if the best information is somehow less than reassuring for some reason I've made up in my head with a "what if" scenario, I then ask, "is the outcome of the least stupid decision fatal?" and "is it reversible or changeable?" and "how much does this matter in the next 3 months?"

Spoiler: almost always no, yes, and not very. And when the second is yes, the third is not a problem, really.

Best being "reliable source", not "research it to death."
Jayne Author Icon - and by least stupid, I mean some things weed themselves out quite obviously, while others come down to preference.

Mine is usually "I don't want to put in THAT much effort" - and solutions quickly whittle themselves down. Lol

If it's down to two or so - flip a coin. You'd be surprised how often you "hope" it lands on one side or the other.
