Still alive, just been doing a lot of writing! Just not my normal stuff. I've discovered how easy it is put my poetry to music lyrics, and those lyrics to music. I plan on starting a book of my songs. with links to the actual music. I'm excited about this!

But with some changes, the first would be switching to a forum format.
Second, it would be a weekly contest every week because instead of a sentence with the word, I'll throw a curve ball and make it a little more difficult. So would anyone be interested?
I like the idea of making this a forum! My only hesitation is when someone asks me to make them laugh. My mind blanks. Good luck and carry on. *Smile*

Haven't written in a while. Been going through a lot the last year and it finally just got to me, so I made the mistake of taking a break from writing but I'm back and trying to write again. I wrote a new piece today, reflecting how how I have been feeling. If you read it, enjoy :)

After a rough year, I'm finally getting into a better place. So I've been thinking about starting my word of the day contest, but it will be a word of the week with a twist, instead of one sentence with it, I'd be asking for a short paragraph maybe. Would anyone be interested? Or think this is a good idea? Looking for some feedback here. thanks!
Do what makes you happy. I've done daily and weekly blogs, 40 words, drabble, flash, haiku ... even a sonnet or two. What made me happy was interactions. Overtime, in-real-life, and on-line, those have changed. In the end... happiness counts. Do what makes you happy.
Go for it. I personally prefer the short form contests where I don't have to write an epic to enter. *Smile*
Personally, I couldn't run a weekly contest, but if you can, go for it! I think people will appreciate the frequent turnover of prompt so if they don't like one option, there's soon to be another. lol

It sounds like it will be a pretty quick and easy contest to enter--only a paragraph? I'd specify a word count, to be sure folks don't give you a 1k word paragraph. *Laugh* But if you're interested, every June and November I highlight quick and easy contests in "The Contest Challenge" . I'd be happy to highlight your contest this November. *Smile* I try to remind my upcoming contest owners that their contest will be highlighted the next month around mid-month and near the end to be sure everything is still good, though I admit I do forget sometimes. *Think* But TBH, I tend to run a bunch of contests at that time, so if one has to suddenly bow out, it's no biggie. *Wink*

Anyway, if you decide to reopen your contest, let me know if you'd like to be highlighted in November. Post the link and I'll add it to my list of November contests. *Bigsmile*
Tonight/yesterday I had to put my cat down. I tried to write a blog entry. It didn't turn out too well. , Mentally I'm not doing good right now, but I guess it will get better eventually.

I just wanted to tell you about a funny experience I had the other day. I was walking down the street, minding my own business, when I saw a squirrel eating a slice of pizza. Yes, you read that right. A SQUIRREL EATING A SLICE OF PIZZA. I couldn't believe it! I didn't know whether to laugh or run away in terror.

But then the squirrel looked up at me and gave me a little wave, and I realized that maybe he was just a pizza-loving critter like myself. We ended up sharing the rest of the pizza (don't worry, it was a small slice), and it was a true bonding experience. Who knew that squirrels could be such good conversationalists?
You need to be careful of NAPS - Nastiness Acquired from Pizza Squirrels.

If you feel the need for some short sleeps after accepting a slice of pizza from a squirrel, this is a sign of having NAPS.

NAPS can be dangerous. If you have NAPS during the day, then at night sleep might not come easy. NAPS can also cause dribble to come out of the corner of your mouth, and can make you snort-snore. As well as squirrels, many cats also have NAPS.
