I stumbled in an open field, wheat rising high around
and as I caught my body falling
I discovered something hidden shallow in the ground,
tiny but profound,
and when I struck my foot upon it,
magical noises did resound...

A snake could be just below the surface... that would scare me into making some pretty magical sounds. *Ha*
