You really can't please everyone, Mare. Every published book I see has both 1 star and 5 star reviews. People differ in their opinions, and that's a good thing. The world would be boring if we all thought the same or liked the same things. Write for you, and take the constructive feedback that works for you.

My mother started on me again this morning. I really hate this behavior. She wants to shoot herself. Give me the gun. I know that/s horrible, but if you could only witness what she subjects me to. Of course, I'd never do it, just venting. Ok, Ill shut up now
Oh, man. I can only guess at what you might be going through. It's not horrible to want to vent, everyone needs to sometimes. I hope things improve soon. Use whatever coping technique you need (writing, music, gardening, walking ...) to help you get through this phase.
And -- I'm sorry, but -- as a mod I notice that your notebook is rated ASR, whereas this note would be 13+ for this note. Maybe you'd like to change your notebook rating accordingly ... ?

I'm entering so many contests, AND they're all poetry! If you know me at all, you are aware that I cannot write poetry. Bizarre *FacePalm*
I never wrote anything in the poetry genre until I came here!
Well, I rarely wrote short stories until I came here. Only just recently have I ventured into it.
That's good. We're all stepping out of our comfort zone!

I really need some feedback from Chapters one and two of my memoir. I will give gps to anyone willing to do this. I had requested a formal review from an author. This person accepted, but never did it. If there is anyone who will do it for me, I'd so appreciate it!
