I am creating a critical thinking exercise for my students. I have seen similar exercises from which I have used parts of them for mine. I need your help to see what you say, so that I can use your answers for my students!

World War III has become a realistic disaster. In one large populated area, there is a state-of-the art bunker. The problem is that 10 citizens have entered it. However, the bunker will only sustain 7 people for five years of the nuclear disaster. Which ones would you keep and which ones would you make leave the bunker? I need reasons as to who you would keep or not keep and why. Here is the list of the 10 people:

!.a scientist- his/her specialty is unknown
2, a medical doctor who is not a surgeon and his/her specialty is unknown
3. an elderly lady
4. a retired army general with some mental problems.
5. a young, single pregnant female
6. a penny pincher
7. a pot smoking hippie
8. a religious leader-denomination unknown
9. a young linquistics expert, he is fluent in 12 languages
10.a good, but not spectacular, writer who dabbles in all genres.

Test your critical thinking skills! This is a fun exercise! I certainly appreciate your help!

Mari
No doubt! No doubt. Lol!

Hey we have that icon now? Where is it... no, you have it. Nice one.
Let's turn this on its head, and call upon some history (at least Sci-Fi history). Y'all will think I'm a sicko, but then some writers are...#5, 9, and 10 should decide. From specific description including profession or lack there of, these three are the youngest. None of the others are any younger than 30. As an example, #7 if he is a certified Hippie of the Sixties, could be as old as 70-75!
There's no guarantee that the most elder person will die or even be the only one to die. Who, beside the pregnant woman has the most meat on them? Three should elect to die rather than be turned out. I mean, wouldn't you rather be selfless and a possible meal for the ones who could survive? Maybe your retired general with mental problems (and a gun?) will be willing to execute this plan? The Hippie and or the penny-pincher might know a thing or two about dehydration/making jerky.
*runs from the bird*

Oh that's too much! Honestly, I think peeps would have a mental breakdown from cannibalism and that's worse for survival than starving... eventually, most people will have guilt dontcha think? Veddy interesting...
True story for Pro-Choice advocates: A surgeon was performing spinal surgery inutero on a 21 week fetus. Suddenly a perfectly formed arm and hand reached out of the uterus to hold the surgeon's finger. In what is now called "The Hand of Hope." Here is the amazing photo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8nafzaTn7A
I can't stop crying after watching this message Mari, It is so full of hope and The truth that our lives are thought of before we were knit in our mother's womb. *Heart*

My grandson was one pound three ounces when he came into the world at twenty-three and a half weeks. His twin brother Wee Sean didn't make it, but Luke, after many months of IT and love he did. I remember the first time I tube fed him with a syringe full of his mother's milk and the first time he held my finger. Luke is now Fourteen years and is tall and a healthy normal teenager. The medical staff who do this work are so gifted and chosen, so special. God bless them. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. *Heart*

PS I do not know how to call you!
Cinn, Call me! I put my number on your Notes page!

Mari
You might want to send this to her directly or tag her. Otherwise she is likely not to see it. You probably shouldn't put your phone number on her notes page where everyone else can see it either. A private message may be more appropriate *Wink*.
Question? If I receive a review where the reviewer writes only one sentence about Her personal idea, does this count as a review?
Thank you!

Mari
I wouldn't think 1 sentence constitutes a review, Mari, no.
To be credited as a review I think it needs 250 characters plus. What I written so far is 153. So, you can see they don't officially have to be too long to be credited. This now totals 250.
*Smile*
They do need to be 250 characters to be official, but trust me, I've seen people do some dumb things to get around that, too. People can write what they want in a review. If they don't take the time to do a good job, or at least make some helpful comments, that is on them. I just ignore that kind of thing and move on.
*giggles* Review gremlins, Mari... de nada! *Flowerp*
