My writing is paralysed. I can't get a word past the clamouring voices in my head telling me I'm wrong. Show, don't tell, no adverbs, sensory cues, three act structure, scene structure, staying in voice, action/reaction, sentence length, choppy sentences, everything I write is wrong.
How do you ever finish anything with all the rules competing to stay your hand?
Just get it out of your head no matter what it looks like. Then once it's out in front of you, it's easier to make the edits and work on it til it feel better
