So I haven't done much writing this past year. Been busy with helping other people get published, some personal issues...my muse going into hiding. With the new year coming, I am going to make a concerted effort to write more. I am working on the sequel to Reawakening, my YA novella that was just published this month, but I want to write short stories daily. So with that...any suggestions on contests that I should be looking for, to help my muse?
Well, "SCREAMS!!! is always looking for new contestants, even though I don't think you'd be a 'new' contestant.
I am giving away 10 gift copies of my children's book, A Mixed Up Christmas. If you would like a copy, let me know. And if you fel moved to leave a review it would be appreciated.
My short story, Malavore's Curse, has just been released by Visionary Press Collaborative.

Awesome! good for you
way to go, girl! yay you :)
Congratulations!
Someone was asking me about 100 words of horror and why it can't be accessed. My membership expired and most everything, including that and the bank for the contest got locked. Until I get the money to renew my membership it will be on hiatus. Sorry. My husband is off work at then moment and until things are better financially we can't afford the extra expense. Hopefully won't be much longer, he had a job interview the other day.

Aaaaw! That is a shame. It was just picking up the pace in there too! I check the prompt every day, and I've noticed far more people taking part.
I am planning a blog tour for Timothy Hobb's, author of The Pumpkin Seed, Music Box Sonata and The Smell of Ginger. If anyone is interested in participating, let me know and I will see you get a Smashwords copy of one or more of his books. The blog tour is scheduled from January 12th through the 19th.

I can guarantee you have not read a vampire story like this. Not only is it horrifying... as a true vampire tale should be, it's creepy, disturbing and a lot of fun for any vampire lover. http://www.amazon.com/Pumpkin-Seed-Timothy-C-Hobbs-ebook/dp/B00B8X6BMY/ref=sr_1_...
I also have several giveaways going on over on my authors page. Scroll down to see all of them, there are 5 books in all, 2 of them children's books, 3 Christmas horror. First 5 to comment on each wins a free copy. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lisa-McCourt-Hollar-Author/257340807681668
That's a lovely thought, however I don't have a Kindle (- or any children *Wink*) I have liked your page tho! *Smile*
Hey, if you there is one you would like to read I can send you a pdf copy or a coupon through Smashwords, so you can read on line or another reader if you have one.
My children's Christmas book is free for Kindle, today only. A Christmas present from me to you. :)
Thank you. I downloaded this and will read it. *Stockingr*
I am beginning to plan a blog tour for one of VPC's authors, Timothy Hobbs. He's written Music Box Sonata (Werewolf tale) and The Pumpkin Seed, (Vampire) and I am tentatively thinking January 5th through the 11th. Would any bloggers that are here be interested in either interviewing Tim on one of those days, or doing a review of one of the books? I can supply copies through Smashwords or send a PDF. http://www.amazon.com/Timothy-C.-Hobbs/e/B00A603SWG/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1
Just released today... A Mixed Up Christmas. I wrote this 10 years ago while living in a homeless shelter and it was inspired by my daughter, who asked who would deliver presents if Santa was sick. The same daughter is now in art school and illustrated the book. Over 30 pictures, so it was quite an undertaking.
That's fantastic, well done!! *Delight*
...Still awaiting the answer about Santa! *Rolleyes*

Congrats on the publishing of the book! The fact your daughter illustrated it - is amazing! *Heart*
She is studying art through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She wants to work for DreamWorks one day. She's good. She's going to do another one of my stories.
I've not been very active lately. Been busy working on getting a few things out for VPC, and working with my daughter on illustrating my children's book. It's a fun story about Santa Claus. He gets sick and can't deliver Christmas presents... so someone else has to take over. The pictures are turning out wonderfully and we hope to have it out soon. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=651524348202198&set=pb.100000339171223.-...
The link doesn't seem to work *Sad*
Sorry, try it again. It's the cover and I forgot I had it set for friends only, so I just made it public.
Kids! There is still time to get in your entries for Kids Create: Halloween. Write a story, draw a picture, write a book review, or send in a picture of you in your Halloween costume. You can do all 4 if you like! Come on, what are you waiting for? http://sitnread.ws/2013/10/05/kids-create-halloween/
Made some changes to my blog. What do you think? Jezri's Nightmares
So my son decided to stick one of his sister's beads up his nose. He really freaked out when he couldn't get it out. I didn't know what he'd put in there, but when I realized it wasn't just a booger... my first thought... and I could feel it... yeah, I tried to pick his nose... but couldn't get it out, we had to take a trip to the doctor's. Then he really started freaking out when I said we were going to the doctor's. A few weeks ago he got shots and he thought they were going to give him another shot. Instead he got a teddy bear. And I got a snotty bead. Ewww.
Haha, I raised three boys very close in age. My youngest swallowed a penny. So, needless to say, I was told by the doctor that all we could do was to make sure he passed the penny. Guess who got to sift through poo until we found it...I still have that penny in his baby book. (Clean, now, of course, lol!)
Oh dear! Well Im glad he is okay Jezri Author Icon ! Reading your story Riss Ryker Author Icon my mum tells me that when I was little I was playing with some coins and I told her I swallowed a penny. She took me to the hospital and they xrayed me but there was nothing there, I wonder why I made that up?!
Despite my internet going up and down all day, mostly down, when I needed it up, I managed to get a children's story edited and sent back in to my publisher. With any luck, she will be happy and it will be out in time for Halloween.
My children's book, The Tooth Adventures of Fanny Nightsky, is free on Kindle today. It will be free through the 9th.

Clicked for a Kindle Version. It is a smashing book! I noticed what a prolific author you are. This is your best yet.
Thank you. :)
