| Just a friendly reminder that "The Soundtrack of Your Life" ends tonight! Make sure you post your remaining entries for those of you who are still plugging away at it. You're doing great! |
| There are currently only 8 entries for the official contest this month! There's still plenty of time to submit an entry if you want a chance at the exclusive Awardicons, Merit Badges, and 1,750,000 in Gift Points that are awarded to the winners!

| Thanks 🙏 for the reminder. I have an idea but I'm running out of time. Maybe on the bus. |
| I've got a plot for one. Just need to write it. |
| On a personal note, during this run of Quills announcing today, I received over 200 emails and only God knows how many notifications because the system stopped counting them at some point. If you were trying to get my attention for something other than the Quills in the past four hours, you might want to follow-up with me in a day or so. I'm not being at all selective with my "mark as read" and "delete" functions. |
CLOSING CEREMONY That's a wrap on 2025's Quill Awards, everybody! A couple of final notes as we close out 2025 and look forward to 2026: 1. The Quills Admin Team will be distributing prizes over the next two weeks... or longer in some cases because some people won a lot of awards and CR only resets so often! 2. We will be closing The Quills temporarily to undergo some renovations for the 2026 year. Our goal is to reopen everything by mid-March at the latest, at which point the nomination form for 2026 will also be open. And finally, I would like to personally thank all of the people who made The Quills possible this year. It's a monumental, community-wide effort, and I'd like to acknowledge all of the people who took the time to nominate each other's work, the folks who generously volunteered their time to judge categories, and the members of the community who voted for the genre awards. I'd also like to express my admiration for all of the 2025 nominees. Whether you won or not, "it's an honor to be nominated" as they say, and the fact that you were nominated means that someone, somewhere on the site thought your work was exceptional. And even though the judges could only select one winner for each category, I can tell you that I've read a lot of stuff in the past few months and you are, truly, exceptional creators. Keep it up! In particular, I'd like to give a special shout-out to Jayne It's been an honor to be your Quillmaster this year. See you all next year, after I've taken a nice, long break from processing nominations and tabulating votes! |
| Congrats, Jeff I've known how selfless, engaging, and helpful you are to all the members and WDC, and to me since you became my Rising Stars mentor way back in 2008. You're a true credit to the site, and it shows with you at the helm of "The Quills" . And congratulations to all who helped support this wonderful activity. |
AND THE AWARD GOES TO... Lifetime Achievement JACE The most surprising thing about this year's Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is that he doesn't have this award already! Jace has been an integral member of the site since he first joined in 2008. Focusing at first on his writing and quickly moving into a Moderator role just a few years later, Jace has been a constant presence on the site ever since, helping out in the forums, dedicating an enormous amount of time and effort to his reviewing efforts, and authoring well over a hundred official newsletters on the site (most dedicated to helping newbies). He was instrumental in authoring the "Writing.Com 101" document in connection with the site revamp in 2015, and has been a generally positive and supportive member of the community for more than 15 years. It's an honor to present Jace with this year's Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations to JACE *Prizes will be distributed over the next two weeks, as the Quills Admin Team's schedule allows. All prizes will count for CR. |
AND THE AWARD GOES TO... Special Contributions to Writing.com Jeremy If you've been following along with the awards announcements today, this Special Contributions Award probably comes as no surprise. Jeremy has racked up wins this year across his poetry, fiction, and community involvement. If you've been around the site at all in 2025, you've doubtlessly run into one of his creative works winning a contest, or one of his community activities being promoted. He always seems to have something new to offer the community, and we're all the better for it. It's an honor to present Jeremy with a Special Contributions to Writing.com Award this year. Congratulations to Jeremy *Prizes will be distributed over the next two weeks, as the Quills Admin Team's schedule allows. All prizes will count for CR. |
