I'm sorry to have to write it, but I'm typing it anyway, with slightly watery eyes, trembling hands, but the certainty that it's the right thing to do: goodbye.

It's not forever. I love the community on WdC, and it has changed my writing forever.

I'd especially like to thank Schnujo's having school probs Author Icon for the kind comments and welcome on WdC. Also, I definitely owe Jeremy Author Icon so much for their helpfulness, knowledge and the big amount of patient reviews. I can hardly put it into words (but I can exaggerate a little!). A big thanks to buddhangela Author Icon, to. A gigantic thank you also to my fans and the loyal readers of my blog, as well as to A E Willcox Author Icon who started the Flights of Fantasy group who’s IS REALLY THE BEST GROUP ON WdC!

I will be back, I promise. Maybe in a few weeks, when the longing takes me or my life becomes less stressful and circumstances change. Maybe next year, maybe in two or three.

Stay as great as you are!

My cat walked into my patio door on December 29, 2022. That is the same day that you signed up here.

On some days, he would like us to let him back outside. We tried that after his previous person said he was an outside cat. The truth is that he doesn't know how to use the outside world. He needs a home with humans to love him.

Are you sure the outside world will take good care of you?
I misunderstood you, Annette. I thought you meant like he smashed his face into the door. You mean he walked through it. *Laugh* I was wondering how you remembered the exact date he hit his face and was wondering if it caused a giant, memorable vet bill you didn't mention. *Rolling*
Always take care of yourself first because through you multiple worlds full of characters live *Heart*. But don’t forget, Evie, that this world exists with people that also care and love you, too! *Smile*

Book Review "Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale"

If you haven't joined Rach's Reading Club yet, I urge you to do so. It's not too late!

I've been reading "Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale" by Jen Calonita, a fantasy novel about what would have happened if the two protagonists of the two-part Frozen film series had never met.

I bought it for a friend's eight-year-old daughter. As a writer, I could not escape the spell of the interesting book idea and read it.

The book has 320 pages and is rated 4.6 stars on Amazon. The book was published on 1 October 2019. The series is a New York Times bestseller.

The characters in this story are fictional. The book is based on the Disney film "Frozen".

The book is mainly about Anna and Else, who live in Arendell. We see them trying to find each other. We see them struggling to come to terms with the plot as they remember what happened a long time ago. And in the end we see how it all works out. Reindeer, first love, deception, ice castles and certain phrases from the film also appear in the book.

I especially like the idea of changing a fairy tale. It is entertaining to read.

There is one very crucial flaw in this novel. (I don't know if this is due to the translation into German).
It contains a lot of "tell", including frequent phrases like "she heard/felt/thought". I found two tense errors.

For these reasons, I would give the book 3.5 stars. The plot is good, but details and scenes need a lot of work.

If you know someone who is eight to twelve years old, likes books about other worlds, magic spells, winter in the middle of summer, and a separated sister, enjoys fantasy, and likes Disney movies or books with already familiar characters, I can recommend this book.

It is the first competition I have ever won on WdC.

Well, apart from me, only one other person took part ... but they were good too!
Congratulations, Evie!
CONGRATULATIONS! I was once the only participant and lost that contest because I didn't post the word count in both places or did in the wrong place or something. I was a newbie. *FacePalm* So, winning it is awesome! Congratulations!!! *Party*
Pride and Prejudice β€” Book Review

If you haven't joined Rach's Reading Club yet, I urge you to do so. It's not too late!

I have been reading "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, a novel about society in 19th century England.

The book, which is well worth reading, is 218 pages in paperback and is rated 4.5 stars on Amazon. The book was first published in 1813. It has been translated into many languages. It is ranked #22,944 in "Books" on Amazon, #4 in "Literary Criticism - Female Authors" and #550 in "Classics (Books)". In 2003, in a major survey of the most popular book in England, the BBC found that Pride and Prejudice was second only to The Lord of the Rings.

The characters are fictional. The book is old, but not out of date.

Pride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen that tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, a clever and independent young woman living in a small English town. Elizabeth has to deal with the social conventions of her time while falling in love with the wealthy Mr Darcy.
In the end, everyone is married (which is true of pretty much all of Jane Austen's work).

The novel is a sharp satire of early 19th century society and shows Austen's ability to describe complex characters and relationships. Note, however, that the author's point of view, with its frequent condescending judgments from "off", and the occasionally ponderous and formulaic language are narratively dated.

As an interesting supplement, you could read other works by the author, such as Sense and Sensibility or Emma, or watch one of the many documentaries about Jane Austen.

If you like books about 19th century England, romance and insightful novels, or books with complex characters, I highly recommend this book. I really enjoyed it.

Decided to become a writer?

Start doing yoga!

I'm serious. Many writers spend all day bending over journals or keyboards. This can lead to pain in the shoulders, neck, back and wrists.

I have put together a list of yoga videos. Not all of them are made specifically for writers, but all of them help in areas that are particularly critical for writers. Some exercises can even be done right at your desk as a quick break!

Here it is! Make sure you do yoga or exercise regularly - in your writing breaks, before or after work, or whenever you feel bored!
You type "end" under your novel, but you haven't even reached 30,000 words yet? You plot your novel but only have ten short chapters? Your novel is something between a short story and a novella when it should be a novel? Or are you just afraid that you might not reach the 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo with your novel?

Then the newest article on my blog "Invalid Item is just right for you:
I never set a length. I just write. However long a story ends up is how long it ends up. The story is king; I am merely its scribe.
rupali Sometimes books are very short and you would rather spend more time with the characters or be able to market the book as a book.

But it's up to the individual how you go about it and whether you count words - for me, for example, counting words is a huge motivator!
