Do you ever write something you really like and eagerly enter it in a contest, hoping to win? Then, glimmering with pride, you read the other entries, fall in love with them, and realize that you don't even want to win anymore because you want their ultra-deserving entry to win?

Happens to me all the time. :)
No. I just want to win. *Laugh*

Actually, I feel a little intimidated by some good writes out there.
And, I hate when I win when someone else should have. I know people put a lot of work in and a little acknowledgment just to let them know they are on the right path can really help develop writing focus.
Contests here don't necessarily mean validation, however. In fact, some of the greatest writers tell stories of the ignorance of publishers who rejected their writing. So, there's that.

While Schnujo's having school probs Author IconMail Icon is doing a wonderful job of calling attention to the newsfeed with generous GP gifting, I thought I'd take advantage to draw some attention to bobturn's "Invalid Item"  contest. I love reading the entries there, and while there are regular entries, I would love to see even more (hint, hint)... :)

This month, Bob came up with my favorite prompt ever. I literally had to write a story the moment I saw it.

"Pro's and con's of 'Absolute Truth' in science and religion"
