I haven't been participating in online writing activities and writing.com reviews as much lately because the glare is affecting my eyesight. I've been squinting to read. My follow-up exam for glaucoma with the ophthalmologist is scheduled for August.

Little StaiNed Author Icon - No. I didn't think of that because I'm not computer savvy. I'm barely making it.
Thank you, StoryMistress, for another 10,000 GPs I won again on the 6th day of this 7-day 25th Happy Birthday, WdC Sig 4 celebration! Awesome!
Today is January 20, 2025. What a wonderful day to wake up to. I watched President Trump's encore inauguration celebration all day today in DC.
Does anybody really want to know? I fell on my forehead on the pavement trying to push the green barrel full of cuttings from trimming the hedges along the fence the day after New Year's. It's too bad I cannot upload a picture of how nasty I look because I'm not a Premium member. Suffice it to say, thank God test results showed no internal damage or hemorrhage. I just have to live with my black and purplish face for a few weeks. It's not a happy New Year for me! Happy New Year to my WDC Reviewer's Group nonetheless.
Glad you are ok and not serious problem. And tell anyone that gets nosy "Should see the other person". And leave it at that. Welcome back
Ichabod Crane Author Icon - Thanks, Ichabod. I'll use that line.LOL.
I had a heck of a time with the Post Office today. I needed to intercept a Priority mail I sent to Atlanta, Ga on August 19. Supposedly the delivery date was August 21. When I tracked it initially, it was delayed and delivery date was moved to August 25. Storms in the East Coast caused the delay. After August 25 there was no update from USPS and it sat there with no activity.

I went to the PO and complained about the missing mail. All week long I was struggling to get an update but postal clerks were not accommodating. I was told I have to go online using my home internet because USPS does not allow the public to use Federal property internet.

The problem was my PC was infiltrated with a Trojan.Slocker virus that locked it down completely. When I took it to Staples to clean it, the technician couldn’t access it either. I was advised to go to a specialized computer geek to diagnose the problem. This geek had no way of getting into my PC either and my only recourse is to buy a new one inasmuch as this PC is close to twenty years old and Windows 10 will not be supported anymore come October ‘25.

Now I’m screwed. Good thing my laptop air is a good standby and I was able to access USPS website. It took me all afternoon to finally succeed in filing my Intercept Request. It was grueling to find my way through the maze.

At 7P.M. this evening I finally felt like a nail was pulled out of my foot. What a relief of an ordeal it was. All I have to do now is anxiously wait for my intercepted mail to come back.

But I kid you not. Dealing with PO personnel is a struggle I wouldn’t wish on anybody especially retired folks who are not techie savvy like me.

Can anybody relate? I’d like to hear from you.
I've tried to use th USPS website to locate packages or find out when it will arrive, but it doesn't seem to know or think it has already arrived. Our small PO has friendly people, but I've never done anything with them except send or pickup a package. They are usually helpful to find the package in the back. Then again, that's what is usual out here in the middle of the Pacific. *BEACH**Rainbowl**Rainbowr*
I had to go out of my way to attend Easter Sunday worship service this morning so I can see and hear the choir sing the Hallelujah Chorus. So happy I did. That anthem always lifts my spirit and I feel I am transported to heaven with the angels.
I contemplated going to church for the first time after many years. But I did not go. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
I’m so pleased with myself for finally reaching my goal of getting back to a size I’m comfortable with. I’m now wearing size 6 down from size 8 for the last 2 years. I want to stay where I am right now because it makes me look good and feel good.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! *Party* HIGH FIVE!!! *Hand*
Update: To my pleasant surprise, I now fit size 4 blue jeans. I'm down to 118 lbs. I am so proud of myself for accomplishing my goal. I want to stay where I am at in the last two years.
I just published my manuscript from my Personal Bible Study regarding Esther and Mordecai and the Importance of Record Keeping. "Esther and Mordecai 2267946}. I hope this is informative and enlightening for whoever is interested in digging deeper into the authorship and historical value of the Books of the Bible.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Congratulations! *Smile*
Does anybody know that misspellings are fair game when they are part of a dialogue and they are direct quotes inside open and close quotation marks?
Do you mean words like "wanna" "coulda" "shoulda"? "Wanna go for a ride?" "I coulda went if she asked me." "I shoulda known better." I don't think words can be randomly misspelled just because they're in dialogue.
I agree with Cass -- Dreaming of Spring. If they are expressing some sort of dialect, slang, or specific speech pattern within quotes, yes. If they aren't expressing something similar to what I just mentioned, I don't think you can. (Well, you "can" do whatever you want, but I don't think readers will appreciate it and editors will correct it.) But outside of quotes, I can't think of any examples when it's okay to misspell words on purpose. *Think*
I want to say Thank you to Anonymous here for sending me GPs for my review because there is an error when I responded to the anonymous sender.
Gifting a WearHealth watch for myself last Christmas is the best investment I ever made. It monitors my BP, pulse, calories, heart rate, and gives me the impetus to walk with a goal of 10,000 steps daily. Now my day isn’t complete unless I do my walking up and down the sidewalk from one stoplight to the next and back, or walking around the college campus, or walking around the YMCA block, or walking up and down inside the mall. It’s exhilarating, refreshing, and energizing.
