I've added a new item to my portfolio:
 Demon's Servant  (XGC)
when a Demon comes to the mortal world of New York to bring the city under his control..
so since people said to run with it the story I am going to. Making it XGC so is will be dark, may look for a copy editor after I'm done with it to bring it down to 18+ but as I want to run a dark halloween thing, better to give it a higher rating and go from there.
A friend challenged me to write something for Halloween, so do I do that this month or work on NaNo outline for next month?
not a hundred percent sure I can do that, but I'll give it a shot then. thanks *Smile*
Even writing an unrelated Halloween story with the NaNo characters will help you get a better feel for them and what they are like. *Smile*
Schnujo's having school probs Author Icon, that's not something I'm accused of very often *Laugh*
But, I'll take the compliment *Blush*, and thank you for your vote *BigSmile*

Airplane1285 Author Icon, it was just a thought, as I just started something for a contest last night, and was already thinking about how I could expand upon it for NaNo. First, I have to decide if I'm going to do NaNo again this year....
I've added a new entry to my book, "NaNo Prep Book:
"Bio for NaNO, main character Jade Day

so working on NaNo prep by myself, review of how to improve would be appreciated so i can do better as i work on this all month long. still have a wonderful day everyone!
I've added a new entry to my book, "flier's Ramblings.:
         "Feeling depressed.
I've added a new entry to my book, "flier's Ramblings.:
         "I have Epilepsy!
I've added a new entry to my book, "flier's Ramblings.:
         "Hospital....
I've just edited an item in my portfolio:
 flier's Ramblings.  (13+)
Something happen today to make me think, and thought I'd try a weekly blog again.
I watched the YouTube video last night and got to thinking; what is classic fantasy vs. Modern Fantasy? Is only characters that are Good vs Evil? Is it the way it is written, or is it how long ago it was written? If it was how long ago, then how does one define very old written fantasy as classic is used to say "years ago" by many.

Anyway, just a random thought that I would like to see what other peoples opinions on and see if and when I do write (witch is hardly ever now as my writing goes into Table top RPGs now mostly)

Let me know your thoughts and have fun on your witting and your day!

Finished my rough draft of my first screen play for a video game (not the faintest if I did it right) hoping to have a more polished copy by the 13th as I work on that and level design!

Though, even though it was dumb and short (10 unedited pages) did feel good to write something again. *Smile*
so, I have decided to put most of my traditional writing on hold, and focus on writing scripts and things for video game development. It has it's own things to consider, IE, how to tell a story in short ways with someone walking around, making character realistic in the the most minimal ways. Not that I post a lot on wdc anymore (and I probably have not done a review in a year or more) but that is my update. I will be head diving into making RPG's and building my skills (and perhaps someday a studio and team)
Hello there. Been awhile!
To me, that's the most difficult writing of all times.
Got a new merit badge today;

PS. only takes me two years per merit badge!
I still have not gotten my outlines or reviews done, so again for the next week i will try to finish my plans again.

On the side note, my first role playing game (dungeons and dragons 5e) will be ran Sunday on Fantasy grounds for those that are fans (am looking for one or two more players to test run a west marches style campaign, Fantasy grounds with the Vtt and discord the voice coms)

On that note, there used to be role-playing groups on here, are they any ones still around that play by posts? making stories together? or am i showing my wdc age again?
Good luck in your group. We've been playing 5th for since it came out and love it. *Smile*
I like 5e, just the first time playing online through a VTT and people i don't know in real life, so a little scary, but like to think DMing for 20 years for friends makes me ready for the job :D
Awesome! I played 3,5 with my first group for about 8 years, dropped out of that group for a bit, and started DMing in 5th for my new group. We have been using a Facebook page for our online content so that we can play between sessions at the table, but I’ve been thinking about switching us to discord.
Was looking around on the android app and seen some interactive story sites. Has anyone written for any of these?

The story on the one I started reading was okay, but prices for locked chapters was high.

Thoughts on writing or reading content like that? And if you did write such content would that be considered published?

Just some thoughts on the writing world as I look at all the items based on writing around the world
Goals for my week;

goal one*ExclaimB* -Plan out my Fantasy novel from start to finish, using two different methods of planing
The plan should in include all characters descriptions and back stories, all settings and there backstories, even if half of the items do not make it into the story, i will know who they are and how everything is supposed to be.

Goal two*ExclaimR* - Review three stories here on writing.com
I keep getting requests to review stories and never really get around too it, so this week i will go through them and get to the ones that have come into my inbox

Goal three*ExclaimY* to go outside and enjoy the weather. Spring is here and being inside all day (or at work) is not all fun. so time to get the yard back and going for the summer!

these are my challenges. Feel free to offer you own challenges to yourself or me *Smirk*
What makes a good Fantasy story? Epic battles? A big bad that heros have to overcome? The characters have to be likeable but with flaws?

The fantasy I'm plotting out I hope to have most of these things.

Also what is too cliche to put in a fantasy? Is there something to cliche?
