Company I was with wasn't able to get a position for me approved, but they're keeping me in mind. In the meantime, I get to help out two awesome ladies at the same time! One's job is as an assistant to the other, but right now she's unable to do that, and thus is making no money (which she really needs). So I'll be filling in as assistant and splitting the money!
I recently got a paid internship doing web development (in my second week presently). It sounded like a pretty regular old company until I got there and started getting to know folks.
Desi, my corn snake, sadly died. She kept refusing to eat no matter what we did, and ended up starving.
In more positive news, I now have a ball python named Patrick (don't actually know the gender yet). He's still adjusting to his new home. And, if eating turns out to be a problem again, the vet told me they could show me how to force feed without actually harming the snake. (Of course, I really hope it doesn't come to that.)
In the past couple months, I've gotten back into play-by-post roleplay, which some use as testing grounds for characters, some for inspiration and fresh ideas, and some just for fun in general. If you're interested, I suggest The RP Repository. Aside from WDC, it's the friendliest place I've found on the internet!
Ever since she actually realized it's there, Desi, my snake, has spent the majority of her time curled up in the pot of the orchid I put in her tank. It's kind of adorable.
Now that "Re|Write Contest. (Annual)" belongs to ~ Santa Sisco ~, I've been looking through stories I can enter... and most are actually bad enough that I don't even wanna touch them. The very premises are just... awful. Nevermind the style or anything.
Oh, I've found some that I can work with. I think I've even already picked which I'll be doing. Although, it'll be an interesting thing in that it'll basically involve rewriting two pieces at once... I never even thought to account for something like that.
Sounds like fun to me! Good luck! I might join myself at some point, as I have a perfect fixer-upper story in mind, but it sure wont be this round. Busy busy!
