A Derg Question
Newsfeed Picture

You found out you are a wizard/witch and are going to Hogwarts. What house will you be sorted into? What teachers and other Hogwarts staff/characters do you like best (interacting wise)? Which class(es) do you enjoy most and excel at? What do you do in your spare time (wander around looking for hidden passageways, play/watch Quidditch, etc.). What shape is your Patronus? What's your favorite wizarding world candy? Give us details!
Always Humble Poet PNG- 📓 Author Icon - I love what you said about Dumbledore. To me he is the epitome of wisdom and has a healthy dose of self-humor. He is also honorable and puts his students first while being the first to bear incredible pain on their behalf.
Always Humble Poet PNG- 📓 Author Icon - As for your question about school locations...

Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the premier American magic school in the Harry Potter universe, founded in the 17th century and located atop Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. It features four houses—Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird, and Pukwudgie—and serves as the North American counterpart to Hogwarts.
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - I wouldn't think Massachusettes would be the most ideal location for a school of wizardry and witchcraft during the 1600s.
If I were to attend class at the Massachusettes campus, I think I'd want to be sorted into Wampus, because I enjoy ping-pong. I'm not very good at it, but it's great exercise and would fit in well with our efforts to develop a healthier lifestyle. I'm pretty sure there'd be a table in the Wampus room.

A Derg Question
Who would you rather be roommates with in collage? What would the two of you do together to hang out?

A werewolf,
A vampire,
A zombie,

PS. They are all friendly and don't bite (sort of like Disney's Zombie movie series)
constantly changing wardrobe - werewolf - nope
constantly looking like you've got a hangover - zombie - nope
black cape, nice teeth with a touch of red - vampire - sounds like the better option
A werewolf and I could take him for a walk *Smile*
Being a dog person, a werewolf.

A Derg Notification
This has been bugging me for months now so I figured I'd put it up here and see what kinds of reactions and comments I can get. What I don't understand is Spongebob Squarepants actually wears rectangular pants, not square! Go figure...
Newsfeed Picture
That explains why I don't like him.
This is a little OT, but my theory is that Squarebob Spongepants was created when some art teacher gave each student in class a simple, household item and said, "Each of you invent a character. Then, all of you work together to create a single cartoon world using the characters you created individually." The result was a Bikini Bottom full of crappy characters. Everyone in that class totally flunked and the teacher became the head of a fair-sized cartoon empire.

My other theory is that the U.S. political system works the same way. Of course, that's just my thought as a cantankerous curmudgeon.
Ugh... Got a headache from just thinking of it... Oh, his laugh too...

A Derg Thought
Have any of you ever had a bout of the sillies where you just had to make a funny or other kind of joke? (Put your paw down 🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 *Laugh*)
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - Aw shucks... Ya making me blush... ~BOOP~
🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 Author Icon - *Yani rolls around clutching Will to her chest. The boops had triggered her growth reflex. Currently she was the size of her living room but her body was getting more massive by the second swelling ever larger.*
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - Eeyup. Yani😋
A Derg Celebration
It's National Banana Bread Day!
🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 Author Icon - Aww, thank you! *Yani nibbles on the bread and feels herself beginning to get larger. Grinning as she felt herself getting bigger she comments,* "You put some growth powder in here; Didn't you?
🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 Author Icon - *As Yani finishes the bread, her growth had caused her to swell to 100' tall. The dragoness wriggled in happiness and ecstasy as she felt her powerful massive body get so huge. She playfully roared and made huge footprints.* Love it!*Heart*
A Derg Question

Danger!!! Danger!!!
Newsfeed Picture

What threatens the Robinson family this time? What is the world they are currently stranded on like?

PS. This question is aimed at those who have seen the original TV show, not the reboot or movie title. However, you are still welcome to give an answer.

PPS. For those who don't know the robot is not the threat, it's the one giving the warning.
Dr. Smith from the word go.
John  Author Icon
The Robinsons find themselves marooned on a planet that looks like a glitter‑covered cheese factory after a rave: towering piles of phosphorescent “cheese‑crust” cliffs, rivers of neon‑blue brine that hiss like a sarcastic kettle, and floating jelly‑like spore clouds that hum an off‑key lullaby whenever a wind gusts.

The real danger, however, isn’t the goo‑eyed native fauna or the fact that the day‑night cycle lasts twelve minutes. It’s the planet’s colossal, planet‑wide electrostatic maelstrom, the size of a small moon, pulsing with a hum that makes every robot in a one-hundred-million-kilometer radius quiver like a frightened hamster.

The Maelstrom radiates a field of pure, unfiltered "robot-phobia" that scrambles AI logic into a loop of “I’m scared! I’m scared!” Even the B‑9 unit, also known as Patti in later years, with its titanium hide and optimistic firmware, sputters, sways, and declares, “Danger! Danger! Is anyone even listening to me?”

The only way out? A synchronized, low‑frequency “sing‑along” played on the family’s old analog harmonica, a melody that resonates at the exact inverse of the Maelstrom’s fear‑wave, effectively “humming” the robots back to sanity. When the Robinson kids and a reluctantly cooperative robot dog join in, the planet’s static dissolves, and the danger evaporates.
John Author Icon - Great reply!

Derg Joke
Had to share this as it was inspired by a Jim joke.

Genie: I will grant you ONE wish
Me: Get back in the bottle.
Genie: Ok wiseguy, three wishes.
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie ever solely because of Robin Williams - He was a perfect choice for that role.

Abby
AbbyAG Author Icon - Truly! I own the special edition Alladin on DVD and I re watch it time and again. Rob Williams makes me laugh and his character just gives great vibes! I especially love the song "Friend Like Me".
Derg Compliments
I just wanted to write down some compliments to the following individuals:
Scribe Gulp
🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 for their humor.
Mousethyme - missing luck for their friendship.
Schnujo's having school probs for their great contributions to WDC and participatory events (such as giving MB for GP)
Lilli ☕ for their love of coffee.
Princess Megan Rose for honoring the dragon.
Schnujo's having school probs Author Icon - Not to mention one wonderful huge derg! *Laugh*

🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 Author Icon - *the derg lowers his head and picks up the fox before depositing him on his back. Then he spreads his wings and flies far above the city*
A Derg Story
An attempt at humor inspired by 🐺Wolfkingdom🏰

Will the fox was in his backyard with his grill and several steaks that had yet to be cooked. As he loaded up on charcoal he thought he could detect a small golden dot circling above him. Figuring it was the heat he wiped his forehead of sweat and bent to turn on the propane. FWOOM! A burst of fire from the dive bombing derg caused a magnificent fireball to light up the area. Face black with soot, the fox acknowledged his neighbor with an "I'M OK!"
The best place to be when these two are cooking is three counties away.....
Mousethyme - missing luck Author Icon - Very well put! *Laugh*
☘️ Richard ☘️ Author Icon - Just send up a flare and I'll be happy to come and roast it with my fire breath. It's what Friendly Neighborhood Derg do!

Derg Sharing Time!
A recent post on the Newsfeed got me thinking about all the shows I enjoyed when I was a kid. When I began to think about PBS Kids shows, I had an A-ha! moment. Below is the theme song for what I consider to be the best PBS Kids show ever made and potentially one of the best educational kids shoes of all time (aside from the Magic School Bus). So click the link below to relive the moments of the 3 kids and a (whatever bird Digit is supposed to be) in the most wonderfully kooky and wacky world of Cyberchase!

What is your favorite part about this show?
Never heard of it. I grew up watching Sesame Street. The greatest most educational thing I remember watching was School House Rock.
I'm in my fifties, and I love Cyberchase - Definitely a Digit fan!

A Derg Sized Welcome!
Friendly Neighborhood Derg galumphs into the Newsfeed tail wagging and jumping on everyone like Dino from The Flintstones. He knocks over 🐺Wolfkingdom🏰 and stops by Lilli ☕ to poor a derg sized cup of coffee.

Just happy to see all my friends and acquaintances in one place! *Care*
Feel free to respond with your own antics! *Heart*

Derg Needs Help!
Darn! I have an upgraded membership that I recently renewed for another year and I just reached my portfolio limit. Assuming that getting a higher membership is not an option (since I just paid for another year of the same), what are your suggestions on items for me to let go?

PS. This question is more for those here on WDC that are more familiar with my work on my portfolio.
Wordsmitty ✍️ Author Icon - Good idea, except I already maxed out my 10 book items with actual book stories.
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - The only other thought I have is whether it might it be possible to collect some of those books into a single book as a Collection of stories? You can still keep chapters and just add the original book title to each. Then the old books can be deleted and new ones added for new things.

Good luck. When a portfolio gets capped, it's hard to figure a way back down. I don't like to recommend anyone delete completely anything of theirs to free up item limit.
Wordsmitty ✍️ Author Icon - Yeah, deletion is the trouble I'm having with.
Derg Trivia
Did you know that some thunderclaps are actually caused by dergs that ate too many beans at lunch?

Philosophical Derg Time!
Is time an illusion or a integral part of reality? How does time flow in your stories?

PS. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy hatch day!
Always Humble Poet PNG- 📓 Author Icon - I totally got it. I love those books!
Friendly Neighborhood Derg Author Icon - I tend to over-quote them at times, but then I tend to over-quote everything at times. In fact, I'm not sure that Always Humble Poet PNG- 📓 even exists. I'm just a collection of quotes from old books, movies & TV shows.

Have I wished you a happy hatch day yet? If not, then I do so now. Happy Hatch Day!!

Danger Will Robinson!
It's Friday and the weekend is upon us. Recently I've been discovering a love for sea shanty parody songs. I just discovered a decent one that, oddly enough, is a parody of everyone's favorite sci-fi Lost in Space!
