*QuestionG* Okay, I've heard a number of people (here and on other sites) talk about how many words they write in a day or a week. Until recently, I'd never thought much about how many words I averaged in a day or a week, but now I'm curious. So, how many words do you average? And why does it matter? *QuestionG*
I got my start as an editor, so I’ve always read and written quickly. I’m also blessed with the gift of gab and tend to write more than most, I think. I’m one of those writers who usually has several stories going at the same time. If I get stuck on one, I set it aside for a while and return to another project to keep moving forward. I think that approach has a lot to do with why I don’t really suffer from the dreaded writer’s block. I honestly couldn’t begin to estimate how many words I write in a day, week, or month.
I don't think it matters unless it helps to motivate you. If having a daily or weekly count ends up frustrating or disheartening you when you don't make a goal (like me!), then it'll only obfuscate the creative juices. (Obfuscate?? Maybe, block or jam?)
For poetry? Doesn't matter at all. Quality matters more than quantity.
I've added a new entry to my book, "Seeking The Wandering (Work In Progress):

I didn't manage to finish my new book over the weekend, what with the internet going down... but it's very close to done! *Delight*
At the risk of sounding cheesy...

Thank you to all the people who work so hard to make WDC a pleasant place to be! And who have created a community, instead of a competition.
*Heart*
Internet is down... it has been since last night. I can get on, on my phone but the connection is crazy slow. My apologies for not responding to any emails or reviews. Hopefully the connection will be fixed soon. *HeartO*
Hooray! The internet is back *Party*
It's MS awareness month *Awarenesso*
I'm not very vocal about it, but I was diagnosed almost ten years ago now.
If you know someone with MS, please be kind and patient with them.
Every case looks different, and symptoms can change with the wind.
And to everyone out there fighting this, or any chronic condition...
God bless you
don't give up
just say a prayer
and keep living.

My sister Lorraine has MS.
I love lambing season... there's another baby today! *Heartb*

I thought it would be fun to share some photos from around the farm. It's mostly animals, including a few that have characters in the Prone To Wander books *Heart*

Prone To Wander (Concept Art)  (E)
The little bit of character concept art I've done for my book, Prone To Wander
#2355344 by Brittany L. Engels Author IconMail Icon
I finally took a little time last night and this morning to get all my Prone To Wander books added properly to my portfolio *BigSmile*
This includes book eight (Seeking The Wandering) which I'm currently writing.

I was thinking of creating cover art for them all. I currently have character concept art as the cover for book 1 and a rough sketch as the cover for book 8 but I think they either need real covers, or they should all be blank.

So, I'm curious to know what other writers/readers think... is better to have cover art, or is it better to leave it blank?
(Just for the record, I will never use ai. Book covers and illustrations take time, but I enjoy the work *Palette* )
I think cover art adds to the item by grabbing the reader's attention when in your port or when posted as a c or b item.

But in all honesty, I stumbled on book 1 in the please review forum, it was not the cover art that caught me, it was the description that did. Once I started reading, it was the characters who enticed me for more. So I have continued to read book 2, book 3, and now book 4. The story, the characters, and the plot are what have kept me reading more. Finding out who breakfast was, and meeting lunch, I just can't even begin to imagine who dinner will be
*Wink*.
