Do you think my local government office will understand how I feel from my response to their latest missive (they emailed after 'failing to reach me by telephone)?

The amusing part of which, from my perspective, being:

Hello {redacted},

You tried to contact me on a phone number that I do not have? I suspect that this is why you were unable to get an answer, nor leave a message.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this also means you will not be able to contact me by telephone on Monday 16/3/2026 between 12pm and 2pm, to gather the information detailed or for any other reason.

As it's important, however, I shall be at my residence and available at the stated time1, and I am also responding here in my journal to ensure there is a written record of my cooperation.

However, in order to speed things along...

"As you have declared you have recently returned to the UK(sic) I will need full details of when you left the UK(sic) and a(sic) overview of the(sic) where you were in the time before your return2..(sic)"

Your grammar aside, if I were to be pedantic I might say "The airport," as that answers the question as asked. However, China then Thailand.

2: I was tempted to ask for clarification on 'the time before your return' - maybe ask the officer to narrow it down to a particular century or epoch.
