If you have androgynous features and tend to wear clothes the opposite gender also wears, and are also sensitive about your gender, don't go into a kindergarten classroom.

"Are you a girl or a boy?"
"Girl."
"Really?!"
"Some girls can have short hair and some boys have long hair."
"Ohhhhhh."

***later, different child***

"Are you a girl or a boy?"
"Girl."
"I think you look like a BOY!"
"Okay."

I love kindergartners.
Oh, darn. It seems I completed my own challenge a little too quickly. Well, challenge still open, but this poem's off the table. *Wink*

SILENCE

by Edgar Allan Poe

There are some qualities--some incorporate things,
That have a double life, which thus is made
A type of that twin entity which springs
From matter and light, evinced in solid and shade.
There is a twofold Silence--sea and shore--
Body and soul. One dwells in lonely places,
Newly with grass o'ergrown; some solemn graces,
Some human memories and tearful lore,
Render him terrorless: his name's "No More."
He is the corporate Silence: dread him not!
No power hath he of evil in himself;
But should some urgent fate (untimely lot!)
Bring thee to meet his shadow (nameless elf,
That haunteth the lone regions where hath trod
No foot of man), commend thyself to God!

THE FORCE

There are some qualities-- some incorporate things,
That have a double life, which thus is made
A type of that twin entity which springs
From matter and light, evinced in solid and shade.
There is a twofold Force-- Dark and Light-
Good and evil. One dwells in lonely places,
In Dagobah o'ergrown; some solemn graces,
Some Jedi memories and tearful lore,
Render him terrorless: his name's Yoda.
He is light side of the Force: dread him not!
No power hath he of evil in himself
But should some urgent fate (untimely lot!)
Bring thee to meet this master (green elf,
That haunteth the lone regions where hath trod
No foot of Sith), there is no try, do or do not!
is this in your port so we can review them?
Absolutely not in my port. Good grief, this stuff probably falls under fanfiction and I am way, way, WAY too proud to actually admit to writing fanfiction. This, is, um, a fleeting fancy. Yeah.
well.....sort of fan fiction, but with class and style of the masters. So....I don't think it really qualifies as fan fiction.
The first person to rewrite an entire poem by Edgar Allen Poe with a complete Star Wars theme revamp, gets a merit badge and my undying awe.
I've never watched Star Wars so I can't, BUT if anyone else wants to, may I casually and completely innocently direct you to this link? *Angelic* http://www.accuracyproject.org/t-Poe-ShortPoems.html
Part 4. Don't hurt me. Join me. Join the Poe side of the Force!

Gaily bedight
A Jedi Knight
In Tatooine and in Hoth
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of a Jedi Master.

Be he grew old -
This Knight so bold -
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That held a Jedi Master.
I love it, now where's the rest?
Goodness, Linn, finishing the entire poem would take work. Work is for other people. *Bigsmile*
YOU ARE a writer! You should be used to work!
Star Warsing Poe, part 3, I don't care if I'm upsetting your newsfeed. Once more, this is Waltz's fault. Blame him.

It was many and many a year ago
In a galaxy far far away
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Princess Leia;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to GET THIS WALKING CARPET OUT OF MY WAY!
movies 1,2 and 3 did not give me any quotes to use, but 4,5, and 6 gave us lots.
Poe, Star Warsified, a mini series. This is Waltz's fault.

The play is the Tragedy, Han,
and its hero, the conqueror Jabba!
Robert Waltz Author Icon told me I had to save these. Inspired by: http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.170902428.8329/mwo,500x,iphone_6s_snap-pad,600x10...

Cooking tip: never try two experiments at the same time. Experiment with one thing, and make something else you know you won't screw up, like, I dunno, box mac and cheese or something. That way, when your experiment inevitably goes belly up because why were you experimenting in the first place, you never cook, you moron!, you at least still have something you can eat.

This PSA brought to you by burnt baked fries and overly barbecuey barbecue tofu sandwiches.
I as making two different kinds of cookies, and ended up putting both kinds of seasonings in the same bowl, they tasted great.
bbq tofu????? that sounds so bland/gross
the last comment went to the wrong spot, the page moved on me
Had cake and ice cream for breakfast this morning. Starting the year off right. Happy new year! *Bigsmile*

I have a weakness. And that is documentaries about North Korea on Netflix. I know, I know, get a life. But come on, North Korea is weird.

The latest I've found is called "The Propaganda Game", and I recommend it just in case you need an extra dose of surreal in your life.
Will have to check that out! That place is bizarre.
Wow. Moving out of an apartment is a lot less frustrating when you're going through four months of stuff rather than conducting an acheological dig through years of it. Who knew?
*taps foot* Netflix. Hey Netflix. Netflix. Hey. Hey. Netflix, it's already officially November 20th here, you know that, Netflix? Netflix. Hey. Hey Netflix. Just saying, Netflix.
did you think to watch a dvd?
But is it Nov 20th everywhere?
That's been on my Netflix header for a couple days now?
I have one arm hair that's longer than all of my other arm hairs. It is an overachieving arm hair. I think I'll name it Neil Armhairstrong.
*Laugh*!!!!
good one wolf!!!!!!!!!!!
Storm Machine Author Icon This is your challenge.

It took me awhile to get up the courage to post a picture, because this is the worst my hair's looked since, well, since I shaved it (shut up. just shut up). But hey, it's purple. I knew I'd have to go purple eventually.

Stormy, we demand pictures of your hair. *Bigsmile* I did it. Your turn.

*deep breath* Here we go...

It looks blue-purple to me. *Pthb* But so lovely and vibrant! *Delight*
I love it!
Storm Machine Author Icon I decided to pre-bleach after all.

The directions say not to rub it into your head or let it to get within 1/4 inch of your scalp while applying it. I think I screwed up both of those instructions.

If I burn my scalp off my head with bleach... I suppose I can always buy a wig.
*Facepalm* Soooo . . . what's next? Purple? Purple wig? Slathering your head with Neosporin and hoping for the best?
*Facepalm*
