I've added a new item to my portfolio:

FOLDER
Freedom Trail  (13+)
Towards the end of the last Wizard War, a group travels to a different state to be free.
It contains the first two chapters of a new book. There are two more that I've written and are almost ready to put up.

This is the story of the grandfather of bear in The Ortega Family Adventures in the Children/YA folder. It is set several decades before Selena and Banu meet. It is not suitable for children.
I've just opened an item in my portfolio for general reading:

STATIC

Part 3 has some minor grammar and punctuation corrections with an added sentence for clarity about the Gnome she meets in the waiting room and what they are doing when her father comes into the room. There are 3 parts written so far in this series. I started with 1000 words in the first and the last couple have been only about 600 words each. I am writing these for my granddaughter and trying to keep on a weekly Tuesday morning schedule with releases. Here are links to all three in order:

I've just added a new short story about a girl and her first thunderstorm. It is set in a world of magic but more modern. There are fantasy creatures (elves, dwarves, giants, pixies, etc.) living and working alongside humans. You will find it in the "Tales for Children and YA" folder in my portfolio. Here is a link:

I've just edited an item in my portfolio:

The Woman in the Woods  (18+)
Things are not always as they are described.

Simple story for the Weird Tales Contest.
I rewrote "For Contest: Simple Tail Job, doubling the word count.
PI Rayburn: A Simple Tail Job  (18+)
PI Rayburn finds a simple tail job isn't so simple. WC:2000

As always, if you love it, hate it or something in between I would love to hear about it. I can't improve unless I get feedback. It doesn't have to be an in-depth review, just a note saying what was good/bad would be sufficient.

I have taken a previous story that was for a contest (I don't remember if I even submitted it, I couldn't find it here) and embellished it. From this 'prologue' I actually invented a tabletop game about looking for treasure in Grandpa's basement. I haven't published the game, yet. Anyway, please enjoy this story and, as always, I like feedback on my scribblings, you don't even have to be polite about it as long as you point out what you didn't like. For me, negative comments are fine as long as they are constructive. Just telling me to 'Go back to your regular day job.' without telling me why you think so, is a waste of electrons. And at the rate we are using them in 43Trillion years we are going to run out, then you'll be sorry!
Please check out:
