| The tradition of secret gift giving traces its roots back to Saint Nicholas’ legendary habit. There are many stories of his generosity, one of the most famous involves three sisters. Their father, unable to provide a marriage dowry, was forced to sell his daughters into prostitution. Nicholas, then bishop of Myra, in Asia Minor, tossed three bags of gold coins into the house on three successive nights. Thereby saving the girls from a life of prostitution. Saint Nicholas Day is celebrated in the Western Christian churches on December 6th. In honor of the Nicholas the Wonderworker, I’ve arranged to have the digital version first edition of my first novel available for free on Amazon for six days Sunday, December 2, 2018, 12:00 AM PST through Thursday, December 6, 2018, 11:59 PM PST. Dandelion Man is a coming of age story set in the 60’s Sir James Matthew Barrie once wrote “God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.” Memories inspire our hero to retell the story of his first love in a way that is unforgettable. If you enjoy a story about that first blush of love that is sometimes funny, sometimes heartfelt pick up a copy of “Dandelion Man – the four loves” and be your own Secret Santa. |

| Just released my second audio book. PHARMACEUTICAL has all the elements of a good conspiracy: greed, the need for power, and a heroine. CEO R. Curtis Larson is out to make money and doesn't have a lot of scruples about how he does it. Diane McMichael, Larson's Vice President of Washington Affairs, gets in his way. Powerful allies on both sides complicate matters. If you enjoy an action packed novel that will keep you interested until the end, pick up a copy of PHARMACEUTICAL. Mr. Hoke has both radio and national television credits including twelve years of major market radio experience and hundreds of commercial audio productions. | I have a question regarding names. I am beginning to sketch out a story. The basic permise revolves around an old man who has Alzehiemer's. So far I just call him "old man". He is at the stage of the disease where he can't remember his name anyway so I'm thinking of keeping the "name". I want to delve into the mind of this character and try to imagine what life is like. I am curious as to what others think about a main character without a name. I have some close experience with the disease but if you want to share stories that i could "borrow" I would apreciate that as well. Dandelion Man If you like a good thriller read DRONE |
| I like the idea of just referring to him as the old man. I have read stories (and even a couple of novels) where you never find out the main character's name. It would work especially well given his fading memory. |
