"Writing.com? Wasn't that the fun, encouraging writing community I was obsessed with in college? The one I spent almost all day on? With those Secret Admirer and Pen Pal Groups I ran? And the contests that used to give me inspiration when I was feeling the creative well run dry?"

"Okay. I'll admit I'm curious."

"Why hello, W.com! How've you been after all this time?"

Sorry I haven't been around much. Been having severe internet issues and outages the past few weeks. Trying to get back to work asap!
Been debating starting a Paranormal / Urban Fantasy Writer's Group here since I haven't been able to find one (found a contest, but no group + forum). Before I devote that much time and effort into starting a new group, I'm fishing around for opinions on whether or not people around here are interested in a group like that...
I'd need more information...
Re-posting my answer to Medie, in case anyone else is curious:
Urban / Paranormal fantasy which is considered a sub-genre of fantasy, is fantasy writing set in a modern setting. The group would be for people who write or read this genre to commiserate and find urban fantasy writings to read. If the group were successful, it would host contests and activities. It is what I've been writing lately, so it's of interest to me, but i don't want to devote myself to a project of that magnitude unless others are interested since my time is so limited lately *Laugh*
It looks like I've got enough gp to upgrade for 2 months... to use or not to use hmmmm *Laugh*
All right. I jumped in and did it. Now to get started on a complete overhaul of my port!
I'm back (again). I've changed my handle finally (formerly Diedraphilia!) Still don't have enough for my upgrade but I'm closer this time. Things have been crazy and intense for me the past several months. I'm now writing regularly again and publishing my work, so I've been super busy - but I can never really abandon my first and favorite writing community. Apparently, I've now been a member of w.com for over 10 years!
Welcome home!*Smile*
*Bigsmile* Thank you!
I've been gone again... my darling daughter doused my laptop with a pitcher of water and demolished it in early September. I just got my new laptop so I'm going to try to be around more often... though it seems my upgraded membership went poof again so I can't get emails cause it is full and I can't scroll for awhile. I suppose if you need me, leave me a notebook message! *Laugh*
If I remember correctly, yes, it unlocks my email and the bulk of my portfolio files. Sorry it took so long to reply. Not being able to use my portfolio kind of made coming here feel a little pointless *Frown* I'm trying to come back - yet again *Laugh*
Well hopefully you'll get up and running soon.
Thanks Medie *Bigsmile*
Almost finished with the new short story. First one I've written in ages. Feels great to be getting things done. There's delays with the cover art so I'm crossing my fingers it'll be ready for Amazon by Saturday! YAY!

Getting the novel finished finally!
In case anyone was wondering, my 3 month upgraded membership expired again and my inbox is over quota sooooo if anyone is trying to reach me leave me a message in my notebook *Laugh*
Been gone a little while. The last trimester was hectic and the first month with new baby I've had my hands full. Trying to get back in the swing of things.
Congratulations sweetie. Have missed you though I haven't been here either. Maybe we can encourage each other to get back in the swing of things.
Thanks Kristy! I've been off an on the past few months. Was working on a writing blog and trying to finish editing my fantasy novel to finally publish but things got a little off track when I had the new baby. Things are settling so I'm trying to get back to my writing again. It's great to see you on, it's been a while! *Bigsmile*
OKay, I'm much calmer now. Actually I feel more motivated than I have in awhile (see today's post: http://www.everynkildare.com/screwing-my-head-on-straight/) Finally getting things moving on re-writing my novel. Already making headway on my new outline *Delight*
Way to do dear.

Remember we are here for you if you need help.
I have decided to put the Ezine project on hold. It is a lot of work for me and all I am getting in return is demands and "what's in it for me" from people. Sorry, thought having things published and more exposure for their writing was "something", especially for a free ezine. For now I am taking the w.com project down as I'm not sure it's worth the headache.
Sorry it turned out to be too much of a headache.
It's okay. Thank you for offering the donation. Maybe eventually I will try again but being in my 3rd trimester with all the other things I am trying to do and having people complain about things is just not what I need right now. It is one less thing for me to stress about I guess.
I've added a new entry to my book, "Invalid Item:

I have soooooo much to do (and I'm sick, yep they got me sick for my Birthday). I think my brain is throbbing *Worry*
Now that the websites are up I am trying to write on them consistently, which is hard since the three days I work are pretty much no-writing days (so I am pre-writing on my days off) AND I'm researching starting a fiction Ezine for TheRedHandedWRiter site, AND I'm learning about making Squidoos, AND I'm working on adding some new stuff on w.com... AND I have to clean my home!
So the 30th Birthday went off pretty smoothly yesterday (yeah I've entered my next decade!) I finished setting up both my websites and unveiled them yesterday. If anyone is interested: http://www.everynkildare.com/ and http://www.theredhandedwriter.com/ I'd love to hear opinions and advice, as they are still new and I do still have a lot of work to do on them, but now that they are in place I can start being more active around here again
Your new sites are looking good!
Thank you! I still have so much to do on them but I'm relieved to get them up and running at least *Laugh*
