One of my favorite musicians would have celebrated a birthday today. 1923 - 1968 (John) "Wes" Montgomery, an influential and Grammy Award-winning jazz guitarist, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Montgomery created a distinct sound by strumming with the side of his thumb and playing in octaves. An example of a tune he performs that many people are familiar with. |

Today Is National Small Dog Day Small, Mighty, and Fearless |
| In an earlier group home I used to live at, the staff that lived in the house with us had a small dog called Ellie May (after The Beverly Hillbillies). We bonded really well shortly after I moved in and it became clear that I was her favorite. Every early morning while waiting to be picked up to go to the Day Hab "school" I would sit on the couch and she would snuggle down lying on the back of my neck. This was 4 years ago and I miss her very much. |
| Mousethyme - missing luck My Ma had a chihuahua mix. I can't remember what the other breed was. Teacup something, maybe? Speckles was a cute doggie. When anyone looked hard at one of us, you'd have thought she was going to eat that person alive! |
Last night we watched a delayed version of the local news (Lies preempted the normal broadcast). The weather told us that there was a less than 50% chance of a coating to an inch of snow. This morning we awoke to heavy snow, already 2+ inches, that plans on hanging out until noonish. Now I know the magnetic pole is shifting, but can someone explain how Long Island moved to Buffalo? |
| ☘️ Richard ☘️ Stay safe as well. |
| I used to play weatherman. I would walk outside in the morning and guess what kind of day it would be. The crazy part is I seem to remember being more accurate than the weather forcast most of the time! |
Okay! They weren't exaggerating this time We're at least 24 inches, still snowin' and blowin'. Haven't been outside yet, it's most likely not slowing until after 12 PM, and won't actually wrap up until after 6 PM. Clean up is going to be a multi-day process, with the wind blowing snow back where we've cleaned it up. It's going to be a streakless couple of days! At least we didn't lose power! |
Waiting for the storm, I decided that maybe a visit to "EXPRESS IT IN EIGHT " was in order. With apologies, that visit produced:
Maybe you should visit "EXPRESS IT IN EIGHT " , I'm sure you can do better! |
Upset a troll by eating some Dysdercus
The troll chased him down
And called him a clown
Before selling him off to the circus
