Ever think of something that makes you chuckle, but then you wonder what in the world ever gave a person an idea to do something? My dad passed away 5 years ago today and I just thought of a very silly memory and wanted to share it with all of you.

When I was five I had a chair that looked like a little girl. When I sat on it I was sitting in her lap. She had yarn braids hanging down each side.

My parents had sent us yahoo's to bed and being the kids we were, we were playing and not making bedtime too easy for them. So, my dad came in and got his serious voice going and demanded me in the bed. I didn't hesitate.

A few minutes later I heard pecking at my window. I was not a fearful child so I just ignored it until I heard it again. The second time, I jumped up and ran to the window and screamed like something out of the best (worst depending on how you see it) horror movie you have ever seen.

There was this dark silhouette of a creepy woman staring back at me with HUGE bug eyes.

Needless to say, I was sitting in the floor crying when my dad walked back in there with my chair.

It has been a very long and exhausting week, but we are back home. We flew out last Saturday for a missions trip to Guatemala. I was able to love on and help severely malnourished children. I wanted to stay there with them, but work and life back here were waiting for me. It literally took us 24 hours of non-stop travel and frustrations to get home. Our 5 hour layover ended up being a ten hour layover... Whew! I think I was asleep before I found my bed last night.

Yes, Robert, looks pretty much like the same types of programs. I want to travel to a variety of places doing this.

I am gonna be a GRANDMA in March!!
That's a shame... It's much easier to convince a puppy to make their mess outside the house, and you can usually achieve that within a few weeks. *Wink*

Side note: grammar is intentional up there, I am not that unedumacated.
All of my life I have wanted to travel the world. I never dreamt that my world travel would come to be the way it has come to be. I remember telling everyone I was going to have kids while I was young so I would still be young enough to enjoy traveling after they were grown. Two years ago my daughter and I went on a missions trip to Costa Rica, this past April we went to the Bahamas on vacation. While I enjoyed both the vacation did not even remotely compare to the missions trip. I am excited to announce that I am heading to Guatemala in August to love on the kids in the malnutrition center there. There are also about 75 extra kids there because an orphanage burnt down earlier this year and those kids had to be placed where they could find room... We are the hands and feet, it is my hearts desire to be a full-time missionary!
