Awful news to come back to. The passing of eyestar~* is the first on WDC to really affect me.
Really puts things into perspective, the "Sad news" message in my inbox is RIGHT below the notice that my upgrade expired. I laughed because of the wordplay "Sad news, your upgrade expired!" But after reading the email it helps in a weird way to get me out of my head, feeling sorry for myself for going on 8 months unemployed. The stress is starting to pile on, but that's an issue, not a problem, relatively speaking.
Thinking about doing a contest fundraiser centered around stories/poem about grief and people we've lost. Yay or Nay?
Are you thinking folks will pay an entry fee? How will it be a fundraiser? There aren't many things on here these days with an entry fee and the few I've seen here and there don't seem to be quite as popular, but maybe I'm missing the best ones.
Also, consider having different categories. Maybe one for a person who has passed on but who really inspired you or changed your life or even maybe a comedy option. Not everyone wants to dredge up hard emotions.
Time for a 24 hour mini challenge! *AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!*
I got a new bun in the oven (calm down, bun as in new novel idea, oven as in my brain) and I'm curious what other people would do with the following:▶︎
"You know, it's the crazy ones that have the most fun and tend to be the most enlightened" he said, peering at her from his upside down vantage point, hanging from the sturdy tree limb.
"True," she digressed, "however, general genius lacks one fundamental characteristic that I find attractive in a mate."
"O, and what might that be?" he asked 'superciliously', feigning for all the world as if he was truly curious and not simply amusing her for his game. For the first time she stopped her movements and stared at him.
"Self control."
In 100 words or less, continue, or better yet, FINISH the story. You don't HAVE to write a completion but bonus points if you do.
A coworker lost her 33yr old son to an enlarged heart. If they pass a card I'm thinking to write: No words can express the sorrows of the bereft. I hope you find solace with friends and family at this time.
I believe you can only link your own...I tried linking someone else's a few months back in an activity (it was a rare MB) and I forget what happened, but it was not what I wanted to happen .
You can only link your own MB and the one that you've awarded.
