Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
No, there's not enough of it and no, they shouldn't use artificial means of increasing it. Maybe they need more tracks where it is possible if the driver is skilled enough and the car fast enough.
I am not sure they did the drivers any favors when they made us privy to the radio communications. Except for when Kimi Raikonnen said "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing". That was priceless.
Kind of spooky memory when I was 12 or 13. Many decades ago I was in the car after attending Mass with the family. I was reading the printed church bulletin, I think a section about sick parishioners. I don't remember the whole sentence but it described someone as the rapist. I knew what it meant and I quietly freaked out all morning and figured it out later that day. For some reason I stayed quiet about it.
I have been wracking my brain trying to think of words and names we mispronounced as kids because it made them mean something entirely different but I can't remember any of them right now. Probably because while I took a nap this afternoon my hippocampus was sorting and re-filing memories and maybe cleared off a few dusty shelves of stuff it thought I wasn't using anymore.
Shoot, I don't think I'll ever look at it the same way again. Oh well... Reminds me of how people insist on spelling "crepe myrtles" as "crape" myrtles, which isn't even a word
Having only fallen from the sky recently, I can't say I'm aware of the vintage Quill styles... I try to include my nomination logos wherever applicable, but it gets rather confusing sometimes figuring out what was nominated for what and how far they advanced in the process.
Also... Conspiratorial whisper... I wonder when Jeff will be collating and sending out this year's nominations
I haven't won a ton of quills, but I have a few and some nominations too (for rhyming, obviously) but I am too lazy usually to affix them properly to the items in question (some of which are questionable items). I despise my keyboard excessively and the thought of extra strokes, highlights, copy or paste...I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
