Understanding through a poet's writing but noticed too late. |
| Thoughts on paper that were once soaked Driven by a mind that was easily provoked Were found in a folder stored under a bed What was written in a heart and was seldom said Was discovered too late to be read A treasure map to a soul Used as a drainage basin bowl For the one that was alive Now unable to revive A list of what went wrong was all too long But now you pay attention To what could not be mentioned By the one who needed help And couldn't keep screaming She went down for a nap That would keep her dreaming A solution for a few Would now be a curse to you Apologies unheard The feeling absorbed was absurd Too much to take in The disease could now win Treated the wrong way And not seen for who she was The disease hides the evidence Of the damage it does Caught by an innocent person Who didn't deserve it Would spell it out in blood So that everyone heard it. |
