Wishes for summer’s time return
Earmark waking hours

Peering through frosted edge panes of icy cold glass
Where once fragrant, freshly mowed, lush green lawns lay
Just memories, now blanketed in contrasting shades of winter white

Crystal clear icicles drape
Every bough about to break
Beneath frozen watery weight

Outside the blistery winds wail
Inside warmly waiting
Summer’s time return

Peering through solar heated panes of near molten glass
Where once winter’s icy, frosty white blanket lay
Just memories, now soaring temperatures induce forced convection

Budding bright green growth abounds
Every bough’s strength renewed
Beneath the sun’s warm life-giving rays

Outside scorching hot winds prevail
Inside comfortably cool waiting
Winter’s time return
