My mind thinks back to years gone by
Not realizing what I did back then
Would start the roadmap of my life
Set in motion where, what, why and when.

So many things I prioritized
differently than today
My life was full of selfishness
Self-indulgence-always wanting my own way.

If only I had listened then
Talked open and reasoned out
Yet kept my innocent spirit fueled
And figured what life was all about.

Today I know the answer to happiness
It's as simple as two and two
NOT EVER should I think of me
I should ALWAYS think of you.
