Amazing Ankles

hidden by hideous socks
never recognized for their true
genius
secreted away in the shadows
thrown by the over-inflated egos of
feet
feet
get all the attention
getting to wear
sensational stilettos
stunning sandals
heavenly high heels
people believe that their
feet
are remarkable
taking them to places that they’ve
never seen
but who controls the
feet
the ankles
the ankles
command and the
feet
are obliged to obey
ignorantly thinking that they hold all the cards
while in truth
a crafty advisor is whispering in their ear
planting suggestions in their simple minds
the ankles
are the puppeteer
not about to cut the strings
the ankles
can take the
feet
anywhere at all
this way
that way
any whim at all the
feet
get all the credit
the ankles
get none of the credit
but
the ankles
are the brains the
feet
the brawn
brain is better than brawn
