| The Midnight Dance Brilliant the moonlight did shine Upon that night as midnight chimed. When two ghostly figures did appear From the forest's frigid chill. Into a clearing they did tread, Casting not a shadow upon the sand. There they danced hand in hand. There they danced hand in hand, With ethereal music, Playing forth from an unknown land. And oh, the creatures gathered 'round, To applaud the couple dancing silently Upon the frozen ground. On they danced 'till the sun's harsh rays Broke into the lovers' daze. Then quick, without a sound, Into the forest did they bound. But on a chilly, moonlit night As the old clock begins to strike, The ghostly lovers may be seen. May be seen dancing 'round Upon the cold and frozen ground. |
