Angel on earth

A simple expression of love.

Many times I sit here lonely thinking of you and I.
I think of the effect you have had on my life… and as I write this
I smile.
Though I believe we both know
I feel I must tell you this, for it’s been a while.
You have given me love when no one else cared
you have guided me well in my time of despair
only you can give me the love my soul desires
only you have the spark that ignites my fire
I have reluctantly given you my heart
for you have placed me within yours
we have created a bond
as a coast to a shore.
You have held and reassured me
of the good things in life
My Angel on earth
You have shown me the light.
You guide me when I am unsure
You’ve taken my thoughts and made them pure
Your shoulder is my refuge when I am sad.
You bring focus at times when I am going mad.
Your smile is always with me
In times of sorrow or bliss
My Angel on earth
To be one is what I wish.
