A Poem Dedicated to the will of the American people after 9/11 and to those lost.

American Perseverance

Death and tragedy
blood pours from our hearts
our way of life
threatened from afar
terror and destruction
bring forth pain and sorrow
knowing faces seen today
will not be seen tomorrow
the evil believe
they can harm our freedom, our pride
yet we only grow stronger
America’s eagles soar just as high
a tragic beginning
for the end is far from done
yet as a righteous people
we have already won
though many physically were taken
in truth they are not gone
they will all exist in our hearts
their souls will live on
we close our eyes to see their faces
together we bow our heads and pray
of our loved ones we know
they are now in a better place
oh yes, the ones we love will be missed
evil cannot touch our love, again, in that they fail
America will triumph
the good will always prevail.
