Love from Afar

A poem for someone I care deeply about

I've never felt this way before,
lookiung at your kind smile and gentle face.
I'd give anything to be by your side
I'd give my life just to take that place.
I lie awake all night,
wondering if you feel the same way.
I close my eyes and I can see you beside me
I want you beside me today.
I'm such a fool, I can't bring myself to say the words.
If I could only have the courage to say I love you
I lie on bended knee, asking, begging god
just to spend one day in a love that's true.
