Shhhh!!!

Just give me a minute.

My mind is noisy all day long,
with silly, unrelenting songs.
Sparked by a phrase, a single word,
an unavoidable commercial heard.

Sometimes an instant tune provoked;
Others, like an ember stoked.
The more I try to turn it off,
The louder still it seems to scoff!
Chaotic noise for every task -
I give up! It can't be masked!

Like a radio that's stuck on "seek",
It merrily invades my sleep.
A frequency that no one knows -
On…and on…and on it goes...

I long for just a day of peace;
I'd settle for a brief reprieve.
But this is life inside my mind,
coupled with these corny rhymes
that torture me, and waste my time.

Can't let it get the best of me;
I'll take this opportunity
and use it for my inspiration,
let it spark my soul's creation,
submit, and let it gain me patience.


But that doesn't mean I have to like it!
