Dedicated to a Korean War Veteran |
FOREVER, TAPS Forever, taps will serenade the soldier's passing from our midst; A man we knew on Heartbreak Ridge and Outpost Queen, fate's own twist That we survived and became friends; A Band Of Brothers, evermore - His story written for all to read will echo on that distant shore. So many didn't live to tell the story, but they could rely on brothers who remember them in pages of "Christmas In July". This was a man whose heart was good, who fought for freedom and liberty; who loved his family more than self, and knew the cost to keep us free. He was a man who didn't forget when the need for the troops was seen; He gave from his heart a gift for them, knowing just how much it would mean. We each will have our memories of our friend, and doff our caps - As someone plays that haunting tune and we hear, Forever - taps. Dedicated to Richard (Dick) Rode Countrymom 12/30/04 |
