This free verse poem is about waking up in the morning |
| In that time you spend each morning drifting in and out of conciousness your heart's desires are revealed. Each dream you've longed to fulfill, each path your feet yearn to travel are shown to you with clarity. If only you could remember what your heart shows your mind when it is in this groggy state; you'd know the way to happieness and which of the forked paths to take. But your heart it loves to tease you, to torment your poor mind, and right as you are realizing the simplicity of the design, your heart it jerks your mind awake and all your thoughts go flying. Oh heart, you sly prankster with your greed and quickness is there any hope the mind will one day win? |
