A Visit From My Muse

Dedicated to all of those writers who are looking for their muse.

So here I am,
waiting for my muse
to stop by for coffee
(and maybe a donut).
She hasn't shown up yet,
so I'm just sitting around
tapping my pen.

When she gets here,
we'll sit down together
and she'll give me ideas.
I may stumble at first,
but she'll find the right words
and lay them on the paper for me.

But only when she gets here.
Until then I'm stuck,
unable to find
just what to say.

Well, it looks like
she's been here the entire time.
