Worthless Dreams

A poem about getting out of your comfort zone and taking a chance at overcoming your fears

I dream of flying
And yet I’m afraid of taking
That first leap of faith
That starts the journey

I dream of changing the world
But in the midst of my attempt
The world battles against me
And brings me down

I dream of discovering
My purpose in life
But I am uncertain as to how
To find the answer

I dream of overcoming my fears
But how can you fight
The things that you fear
When you have not conquered fear itself?

I dream of bettering my life
But then I decide
That it’s not worth the struggle
That I no longer want to change

I cannot let go
I seem to want to remain
The person who dreams
But does not take that chance

The chance to succeed
To make victory mine
The chance to make a difference
The chance to change lives
