LIFE PRESERVER

A modern day Saint, he stopped his car,
and ignored the blasts from the horn;
determined to save the mother and babes
who seem oblivious to danger this morn!

He cleared the way for the unlikely prey
of the monster machinery and stood
with hands on his hips and a look in his eye;
just knowing he did something GOOD!

The duck and her brood searching for food,
saw a pond in the distance, and charged
from the safety they knew to find something new
which might just turn out to be a mirage!

A Life Preserver is he, that's no mystery!
A young man with the courage to try;
His reward will be great for defeating fate
and letting these ducklings pass by.
