a third poem of mine, about life and change |
| I wrote this because I feel over-whelmed a lot, especially so by all the change that has gone on in my life simply over the past year. Honourable Mention in the "Calling Young Members" contest for November, 2004! Seasons change and transition from one to the next. Summer's heat fades into fall with all the colored leaves. Clothes change their shape and size, if they're not washed correctly. They go in and out of style if we don't want them anymore. Children change their attitude and size-- they grow into adults and lose their imaginations. Towns change their size and popularity quickly dies. All to make room for "the next big thing". Life is change everlasting and incomplete. Life tosses you about on a crazy sea, Just when you had found out in what direction you were going. Life is change Deciding for you where you'll go, before you can assess your choices Moving rapidly. Life is change Unceasing and ever-failing. Always leaving you behind. A computer with no option to "shut down". Life is change forcing you to change forcing you to hide behind And never to unwind. |
