STOP THE WORLD

So much abuse as a matter of course.
In the world's history it is rife.
Why would God stop the world for a horse?

If fate could be modified at its source;
dissevered, remodelled, changed by Time's knife,
so much abuse as a matter of course

may be redirected by human force.
Then the question posed by husband or wife,
why would God stop the world for a horse?

may not be so indelicate of coarse
as they go about their days in this life.

would never be known, would not be endorsed--
So the question would not be asked in strife;
