fear

another poem

Calm as the ocean in daytime
And black as the stormy night
a shadow creeps in silence
away from the power of light

He's a hooded figure of nightmare
and seems to have no name
and no one knows for sure
from where this monster came

This soldier of darkness is coming
and he cannot be defeated
for there is no one left to fight him
now that day has retreated

He is the owner of creatures
you fear inside your soul
however as you cower
you help to make him whole

But i will not stand helpless
while he causes others pain
i'll stand to take the challange
to drive his hate away

Yet you'll watch me stand alone
won't rise to help me live
even if i've fallen
and given all that i can give

I will live to tell the tale though
I won't die in a pool of my tears
for i will be the only one
with the strength to face my fears.
