The new prompt is: Write a story or poem about an imaginary creature that lives someplace in your house. Not Me's It is a very fine mess, my house possessed by multitudes of creatures that reside within One prefers to stack clutter to the ceiling Another prefers dirty laundry piled in every cornor While the Not Me's collectively dirty plates for every morsel they never ate Having thought once or twice to have witnessed these culprits, I am always rebuffed with it was Not Me! Why is it these creatures never find time to rest from Making my house such a fine mess Never once has the Not Me's taken out the trash Or feel the need to dust Or find the time to make a bed Or have the desire to clean the shed The Not Me's are sly, stealth creatures of my house Though I have heard Mother's everywhere exclaim their existence Not Me's reside as invisible persistent tennets Having only one evident single trait Not Me's only take up permanent residence Where mothers live during child rearing years |
