IN ANOTHER TIME Raindrops fall ever so gently, Creatng puddles on the ground, Soaking into the green grass As if they are homeward bound. The skies clear to a brilliant blue And the sunbeams shimmer in the air, A little bit of Heaven here on Earth; A moment that is free from care. In another time, and in another place, Memories play once more in my mind; I see the bright yellow of daffodils And a lovely purple crocus find. There was a time when Spring was new, With its colors fresh and bold; Once the world held so much promise, Ah, but now I've gotten old. I may not feel the raindrops As they drift down from up above; I may not see the sunbeams But I'll always feel your love. Countrymom 7/11/03 |
